Aether is a term formed around the idea of duality. It is both something and nothing. This idea is full on display in Aether State's productions and live performances. Whether it's ability to effortlessly phase in out of different genres while still showcasing what makes each special, or producing tracks that manage to fit into a framework while somehow destroying it at the same time. He has shared the stage with some of the most cutting edge artists in bass music including G Jones, Shades, Eprom, Ivy lab, Mad Zach, Truth, and has played What the Festival, Konnexion, and other PNW festivals. He teaches at and runs the Music and Sonic Arts program at Portland Community College where he teaches music production and is also a successful freelance audio engineer. 

Aether State is both the light and the dark, the heard and unheard. The somewhere in between.

From Salt Lake City, Utah comes the bass music badness of Blake “Pookiie” Shelman, a 16-year veteran of the decks in the Utah scene. Pookiie began his DJ career as a child using tape decks to create mixes, finding peace and joy absent in other aspects of his life through music. At age 18, he got his first set of decks and he hasn’t stopped since.
With little in the way of a musical background, Pookiie has established himself as versatile and professional DJ, performing along with the likes of Masta Killa of Wu-Tang, Tech N9NE, Dead Prez and other heavy-hitters in Hip-Hop, as well as sharing the bill with StookieSound, UZ, Stylus Beats, Mt. Eden, HUCCI, Carnage and many other HUGE names in the EDM scene.
Currently, you can find Pookiie in the studio ‘long-side his main man Dr!nk and many of the other SmokeSiignals soldiers producing and crafting super-dope beats and tracks for your heads!!!
