our youth grows is a three-part audio project taking us into a young person's landscape and their experiences of outdoor spaces in Stoke-on-Trent during 2020. 

What do the outdoors mean when you’re old enough to explore the city on foot but too young to own your own space? And who are our parks and outdoor spaces really designed for?

PART 1: IAN // In June 2020 Hanley Park saw the first Black Lives Matter demonstration in Stoke-on-Trent. IAN is a verbatim account by youth activist and performer Ian Ikuesan (Stoke Memes) of his experience making the protest happen. Recorded onsite in Hanley Park in September 2020.
