Apukuna is a visionary DJ and musician whose musical offerings transcend the ordinary, creating powerful, heart-centered journeys that ignite dance floors, guide ambient sound journeys, and deepen breathwork sessions. His distinctive approach to DJ'ing relies on looping, live remixing, live vocals, and digital percussion to craft unique and improvised experiences.

Known for his ability to blend sacred music with soul-shaking movement, Apukuna's journeys help to heal, uplift, and guide transformational experiences. He describes his creations as a ‘movement, a meditation, and a prayer for an awakening heart’.

Apukuna is also singer-songwriter Jon David (@jondavidmusic) and an adept presenter and workshop facilitator, delving into the realms of conscious communication, community-building, and food.

Apukuna has facilitated dance floors and workshops at BOOM Festival (Portugal), Dreamersland (Poland), Ecstatic Dance Festival (Cyprus), Beyond Music & Arts Festival (Turkey), Sonic Springs (Canada), Wicked Woods (Canada), Shambhala Music Festival (Canada), Lucidity Festival (USA), Lightning in a Bottle (USA), and Burning Man (USA).

WHAT IS "APUKUNA"? (artist statement)

"Apukuna" is a Quechua word meaning 'mountain spirits'. Following an apprenticeship into Andean cosmology, I chose the name to honor the people, the wisdom, and to invite deeper appreciation for their sacred relationship to land, mountains and the unseen. This relationship is available to all of us who walk this earth and is where much of my musical inspiration emerges."

immersed in the nuances of musical
expression and genre fusion.
Flavios multi-talents results in a diverse 
offer of performances from instrumental handpan
concerts to immersive soundscapes and beats-all live.


Born in 1989 in Bern, Switzerland, with
Spanish heritage and a soul enriched
by world travels, he currently resides
on the vibrant island of Ibiza.
Throughout his musical journey,
Flavio began playing the drums as
a child and, in his twenties, immersed
himself in DJing and producing
electronic music.
Introduced to the handpan in late
2017, he formed an immediate
and profound connection with the
instrument, marking a significant
transition in his career.
