Tobu Mone Rekho

Composed by Rabindra Nath Tagore at the age of 54. 'Jakhon porbe na mor payer chinho ei baate' is a song that portrays death and rebirth. It was first written as a poem and was later given the tune in Baul Sangeet style. 

The poet says, "when my footsteps would no longer touch these grounds, when I won't be rowing my boat in these waters any more, when I would be done with all the buying and selling, lending and borrowing, I won't be visiting these fair anymore, then, fair it would be to not remember me, to not look at the stars and call me, so you might forget me. But at the end of it all, who says I am not there in every morning play. Call me with a new name, here and then the same old me."

"Chokher Dekha, Praner Kotha" is an album celebrating the timelessness of Tagore's music. It is a new-generation take on 8 classical songs of Tagore. The music has been rearranged using western styled instruments and extensive orchestration, while the vocals have been done by the legendary Papia Sarwar and her daughter Jisha, giving the album an unique blend of eastern and western elements. The songs featured in the album are:

3) Nishito Rat e Badol Dhara
4) Tobu Mone Rekho
5) Shukhohin Nishidin
6) Aguner Poroshmoni
