'Cassy returns with ‘E.T.Ascension’, a mini journey through the sounds of house and techno which she adores. With this release she revisits the simplistic methods she used when making music in previous years when living in Berlin with her then husband, where he helped build her home-studio in the living room. With him being an established sound engineer she learned a lot from him through the process and by using predominantly just an 808 and a PC, the pair produced the main parts of these tracks together, with Cassy finishing them off herself last summer. It reminded her of the weirdness that makes her productions so great, which is what she has pinned on this release, enjoying the feelings of freedom by using the machine again, and revisiting the feelings she had when using the machine for the first time, how fresh, new and particular the sounds were.

A break away from DJing and being reunited with her beloved vinyl collection has re-centered Cassy’s focus; to be wild and free in expression and to set aside any need to fit into any trends, genres, or boxes. As a DJ, producer and singer/songwriter, her prolific force in dance music and reputation for excellence spans two decades, and Cassy is here to stay.

About ‘E.T.Ascension’ EP, Cassy says:

‘The whole idea to this record was to work more like i used to when i was still living in Berlin, when i started working with this setup i felt that the sounds were fresh and it was nice to revisit these feelings using the machine and to reinvigorate my myself with my weirdness in producing music and also my vocals, i felt connected with that part of myself as a producer again. I’m a huge fan of The Persuader and Swedish techno, so I was obviously super happy to be able to work with him. We're doing a remix swap together and I absolutely love the remix he’s done on this release.’'

Theus Mago is the alter ego of established Mexican producer Mateo González, responsible for dance music projects such as Bufi and Sonido Fantasma. He is also co-founder of Duro, and has released on Correspondant and Disque Discos. This new EP presents us two tech-bouncing hypnotic tracks, ready for the most exigent late-night dance floors. The first side, "Out Of The Blue", makes it's way through thanks to the 16th note tremolo acid lead until we get to the break, where a huge layer of reverb and harmonious pads leads us to the last part of the song. The second track, "Wrong Spell", relies on a playful noise hi-hat that gives the swing and intensity to a solid Morse-code-like base with androgynous vocals.

Cologne’s Bryan Kessler makes his debut on Catz N Dogs;' Pets Recordings with his ‘Party Like You’re Not Alive’ EP. The title track is clearly a dancefloor weapon. Quirky French duo O.N.O have been hard at work this year, making the most of the forced confinement by cooking up some of their most sophisticated work yet.
‘Don’t You Know Feat. Praa’ is a powerful, triumphant track that will lift the spirits. Bordering the lines between slinky nu disco and pumping house, it features sublime, breathy vocals from fellow Parisian newcomer, Praa. Her warm tones glide over a beautiful melange of off-beat disco bass, funked-up synth touches and moody atmospheric touches, all set to a snappy, tight beat. A heady breakdown and massive snare roll build-up kick the track into overdrive, and the mixture of ‘80s mood and driving modern day energy is a truly sumptuous mix.
‘In Spekzion’ rocks an Italo disco vibe in some style, convincingly recreating the muscular vibe of the era. A stuttering, whooping chopped-up vocal loop draws us in, a slowly phasing synth ‘n’ bass arpeggio cutting in sharply as the light beat and gated ‘80s snares explode into life. A swirling, muted synth snarls; another taps out an optimistic melody. Huge snare hits launch us out of the short breakdown, propelling us back towards that deliciously camp and retro vocal hook that recalls the days of primitive samplers with short sample times. The duo say that “the track was inspired by a host of anxiety-inducing information delivered in recent months, a total letting go of reality, a seizure of power over what surrounds us, a positive rebellion, a burst of oxygen.”
Together, these two tracks form a very necessary palette cleanser that will bring you energy and positivity right when you need them most.

Creativity leads to innovation and that is what Precursor is striving for. Connecting elements from electronica and techno, Precursor's music leans on the verge of two sonic universes. 

Precursor is an electronic music artist and mixing engineer with over a decade worth of experience in various genres, playing nationally and internationally touring with dj sets, live acts and audiovisual shows. He also worked as a composer for film with credits on Feyenoords' documentary ”Gimenez” [2024], and short films ”Dr. Geiger” [2023] and ”Vlucht” [2024].

He's currently working on his 3rd studioalbum after ”Wanderlust” [2016] and ”GLIA” [2022] on Swedish singer Sailor & I's Arvet Records. The latter includes an award-winning videoclip of the track Opulent which won a prize at the Art of Neuroscience competition in 2022.

Besides Arvet, Precursor has credits on labels like OPIA (by Olafur Arnalds) and Just This (by Hunter/Game).
