Our seventh "Free Edit of The Month" is brought to you by one of our longest friends of the channel. Thommie G has been producing some of the best edits in the deep house/downtempo genre over the last few years and bringing that extra touch of groove that will take the listener beyond their audio system. Thommie G has revisited one of the biggest rock bands of the last few decades Oasis and their track "Champagne Supernova". You will hardly recognize the original as his producing skills take over to bring us an absolutely banging up-tempo dance floor killer.

5 Years since my last Moderat edit I came up with a new one this year after I heard an edit from Ae:ther at a friend's event in Amsterdam. I was kind of hangover that weekend and decided to make another version of one of my favorite songs. I also wanted to experiment with some AI vocal isolation software to see where it stands today. This worked like a charm and in the end it only took me about 3 days to create the track start to finish. 

I mixed it a week later and recently I rebuilt my studio from the ground up so I could master it using a hybrid approach. Pretty happy how this turned out.

Early support from Ae:ther, Hunter/Game & more. I've shown it to the guys from Moderat but I think it is unlikely that it will be released as an official remix with my amount of followers. I'm happy with the result either way. 

Since I'm going to be focusing on releasing my 3rd album soon I will be giving this away for free. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Art and science are inseparable: one cannot exist without the other. 

Creativity leads to innovation and that is what Precursor is striving for. Connecting elements from electronica and techno, Precursor's music leans on the verge of two sonic universes. 

Precursor is an electronic music artist and mixing engineer with over a decade worth of experience in various genres, playing nationally and internationally touring with dj sets, live acts and audiovisual shows. He also worked as a composer for film with credits on Feyenoords' documentary ”Gimenez” [2024], and short films ”Dr. Geiger” [2023] and ”Vlucht” [2024].

He's currently working on his 3rd studioalbum after ”Wanderlust” [2016] and ”GLIA” [2022] on Swedish singer Sailor & I's Arvet Records. The latter includes an award-winning videoclip of the track Opulent which won a prize at the Art of Neuroscience competition in 2022.

Besides Arvet, Precursor has credits on labels like OPIA (by Olafur Arnalds) and Just This (by Hunter/Game).
