past a hundred, felt nothing 
but it coddled my eyes
as the trees started blurring 
the lines became vague
so i guessed their positions 
and kept it opaque

and i know now i wasn't
prepared for the loss
i was bound to my heart
contradicted by cross
on the hill i was buried
with christ by my side
we were dead but could never have
come back to life

Needle

My own take on Neil Young’s beautiful song “The Needle and the Damage Done.”

Actually the very first song I ever played on guitar. About 45 years ago, a friend at the ”Kringlan” youth center taught it to me — even before I had actually heard the original.
Mostly real instruments in this recording.

Why?
Music has been a major interest throughout most of my life, but sadly, I am neither a musician nor a singer in reality. In my 50s, I completed a sound/music program at the “Studio Blue” school in Stockholm. Since then, I’ve had the humble ambition to create musical content that, at the very least, impresses myself— and hopefully, keeps improving over the years.
