After picking up a smashing Dastardly Kuts DJ residency at Babylon on Eagle Street in my hometown of Brisbane, I thought I'd take the opportunity to start a new Kut Above Sessions Mixtape Collection.

This is Volume Two of the Babylon Sunset Sessions recorded live on Saturday the 18th of May 2024 with the beautiful Brisbane River as my backdrop and the spectacular setting Sun as the inspiration for this tasty selection of funky fresh beats.

Playing music on New Years Day is always one of my favourite sets of the year.  We've all put the old year to bed and come together to share in the coming years rich potential.  Over time, I've found that the sets that resonate are the ones that riff on classics, are rich with soul, that are just all the way down funky.  Comfort music.  Feel good music.  
 Accessible, but done right, hits for the heads as well.  I nabbed this recording from a set that I did not think was going to happen.  2020 was a rough year.  I hadn't performed since August as pandemic lockdowns had curtailed 99% of live music.  So I really wanted to catch the feels right.  Glad I captured this.  Hope you enjoy.
