This show is a 2 hour tribute to Los Angeles label & collective, Jazz Is Dead. Spearheaded by Ali Shaheed Muhammed & Adrian Younge, JID is pushing Jazz into the next century while taking cues from its long and winding past. Featuring contemporary recordings from Roy Ayers, Azymuth, Doug & Jean Carne, Henry Franklin, Lonnie Liston Smith, Gary Bartz, Katalyst, Brian Jackson & others, the label has created an impressive amount of work from Jazz living legends. 

The first hour is made up of recordings from JID volumes 1-12, while the second hour is recordings from the featured artist's original catalog of the past for context & history.

This is of course way too much to fit into 2 hours, but I tried to capture the spectrum of creativity from these incredible artists.
