Our next guest is a one of the founders of @thecodecast. A well crafted music selector his vision of techno is a bit ritualistic, but aims to generate dark yet groovy and impactful atmospheres, using hypnotic sounds to impact the mind and percussion and grooves that impact the body as well. This submission highlights those combinations as a resents a balance of lightness with dark tones to create a beautiful atmosphere of emotions. Latmos is a Finnish Techno producer, DJ and live artist, known from his handcrafted and hypnotic tracks. All of his music is made live with hardware only. He first frew attention in the Techno community with his strong debut 12” Pool of Intuition EP, released on Samuli Kemppi’s and Frederik Hatsav’s label Blacklabel Distillery. The music of Latmos has been supported around the globe by well respected DJs like: Oscar Mulero, Dino Sabatini, Dimi Angelis, P.E.A.R.L, Magna Pia, Vincent Neumann, Juho Kusti, Samuli Kemppi, Saphileaum, Justine Perry and Anders Hellberg to name a few.

Deep beats within diverse styles and bpms are to be expected from this eclectic & daring selection, in which he displays diverse styles harmonically blended.

Mankinart Radio 09 - Minjoon

More than pleased to welcome producer/Dj & artist Minjoon, based in Korea. Minjoon displays a mix between deep, subterranean, pretty dark sound at times  traversed by more luminous strokes. This gives his audience the feeling of being pulled into a dark tale with sonic doors opening on rooms filled up with sun. This contrast transpires more in his sets whereas his techno prods have a more direct approach. It's this tension created by seemingly opposed ideas/concepts (familiar Versus Unfamiliar and in his own words, ambiguity of colors when it comes to visual work) that form his current signature, aside from a strong interest for primitive sounds. 

"To me, the word 'primitive techno' is based on the primitive senses of humans. Literally, rythms that can be found in folk cultures, such as traditional korean instruments, Mongolian traditional 'Humei' sound, or ancient Nordic chants. It englobes both the magical and dark sensibilities inherent to 'modern electronic techno' ". 

Minjoon also works as a designer/artist & podcast curator for Artscope. After releasing on Charybdis, KVLTÖ, Artscope (...) he keeps exploring and developing his vision. Thank you Minjoon for your dedicated work <3 We wish you all a nice trip :-)

PRIOR ACT #043  — Minjoon

Summer is here with its light-breathing days, marvellous sunsets and lush nights. Definetly the right time to present you a dear Berlin fellow of ours: BLY!

Deeply rooted & faithfully committed to the passion for breakbeats, jungle and drum & bass since the early 90ies, his path headed to the magnetic atmosphere of techno vibes by 2001. From there, while exploring different genres and projects along with several releases, in 2014 it finally lead him to Berlin and mind-blowing new sound explorations. This wicked cities vibe, ecstatic gatherings and unique locations, amazing people transcending limited perceptions of all senses – all of this together proceeded to a signature sound reflecting in his own productions and handpicked sets. Up to this day, his faithful commitment payed in several releases and dj sets. Mainly at highly recommended underground party series like xXETEXx, where he also contributes his creative vibes as a valued member of the crew.

Today he fuses “oldschool” technical skills with deep, driving Hypnotic sounds and spheric elements, with which he loves to carry people away. His mix-contribution for our podcast series is no exception, transporting you bit by bit, without haste, but with great unfolding progression into unknown sonic realms of the vortex.

Deep/hypnotic/mystic monthly podcast since late 2016, sometimes leaning toward raving Techno — The whole in strong, unique signatures, supporting both established as well as emerging Djs/artists and focusing on pulsating, atmospheric deep sounds. Based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior Act has a preference for free spirited people/set lengths, esp. toward Live sets and vinyl building approach (since Day One). Pls Check PA's FB and artists pages for the Tls that have been provided. All Tls transmitted so far are in online Info boxes (If u don't find them, they most likely weren't transmitted). Note: in 2017 (channel was paused for 2y 2018-19 becuz of triggered misogyny) point of honor was made to not promote any local DJs, same afar - in my own techno musical taste/range, IF their gender-equality support/perspective reveals to be based on social posing (and/or 'friends based') i.e: if motivated by exposure / publicity / status / image & bookings conveniences (all the while displaying clear sexism in private, repeatedly. Since 2017, Minjoon has been fascinated by the joining of his painting    awareness and primitive techno. His theme is to find an ambiguous balance based on the extreme paradoxes of "Unfamiliar familiar". Ambiguous colors appeal not to the visual sense but to another sense of energy.

 He has been playing in various techno clubs in Korea including vurt., Volnost, Silence, atdge and a two-year residency at Beton Brut. He currently runs the Artscope podcast and is a member of OverCurrent since 2024.

 After releasing his debut EP 'Kleśa' on Virescence Records in 2021, his second EP 'Weird rally' on MANKINART showcased his more developed shamanistic musical world. In addition to participating in compilations from BAHN, Artscope, and Kvlto Records, his recent works on OverCurrent are also actively being released.

 He is constantly exploring the sounds he possesses.
