Emerging from the ashes of Problematic Haircuts in 2010, Problematic Jam is a band defined by its fearless embrace of experimentation and imperfection. Comprised initially of David, Dimitri, and Alexis, the trio formed Problematic Jam as an antidote to the monotony of playing repetitive sets in dilapidated dive bars. Instead, they crafted a new identity that thrived on spontaneity, grit, and an uncompromising dedication to musical authenticity.

In their early days, Problematic Jam's creative spark ignited in marathon jam sessions that often stretched for three to four hours. Armed with nothing more than a single microphone, the band recorded these improvisational explorations in their rawest form. Their mantra? One take = one song. Every melody, every beat, every nuance was an ephemeral burst of inspiration, captured without revision. As the band honed their recording setup, they decided to transform each session into a complete album, celebrating the imperfections and serendipity of their process.

Their debut album, provocatively titled James Bond Is a Porn Star (2014), set the tone for their anarchic approach. This was followed by Stoned Astronomy (2015)—a sly anagram of "Destroy Monsanto"—and the controversial EP Problematic Mass-Turbation (2015). Their third opus, Stereonucleose (2017), released on the American label Grabbing Clouds Records, marked their first foray beyond the realm of SoundCloud. With this release, the band started gaining recognition outside their grassroots following.

However, after Stereonucleose, the momentum faltered. The band entered a creative limbo, struggling to finalize their fourth album. For years, Problematic Jam remained dormant—until 2024, when David resurrected the project with the help of cutting-edge AI tools. Setting up a virtual studio, he unearthed their earliest recordings and began editing and producing them remotely in collaboration with Alexis.

This renewed effort culminated in It's So Confusing, a reimagined debut album originally recorded in 2012 that encapsulates Problematic Jam's journey—equal parts chaotic and visionary. With their trademark blend of spontaneity and innovation, Problematic Jam proves that sometimes, greatness is found in the unpolished and the unplanned. They remain a testament to the power of raw creativity and a beacon for anyone seeking music that dares to be different.

The first single by S.P.Q.R, Talking To The Dead, is about a man who kills a woman in a momentary loss of control. He instantly regrets what he has done and begins talking to the woman's lifeless corpse, consoling himself with the reason he needs consoling. Ah, the bittersweet irony.
