SUNDAY PLAYLIST

The main synthline across the track is played interactively on Buchla Easel Command 208c. One thing about it - it is not a synth in normal/usual way expected from a machine making sound by moving electrons. It is rather an instrument trully. Here is my first track with this beaut synth, exploring Buchla-sweet analogue twangs and tones. Just like Auroras, you expect the colors, but they are always different somehow. 

All 5 mins played in one shot interactively, moving Buchla sliders placed in main panel in one row. Brilliant design to be able to see what's going on with wires and sliders position. Being able to move many sliders as you go just does not let you setup a preset and play it thru. You want to change things always, naturally. It is a synth technically, but feels more like playing a jaw harp or guitar. When you twang a string while playing. Here you have 22 sliders handy aligned for that. 

Lower and higher notes are the sound of two oscillators playing the same incoming midi pattern. While envelope, wave-folding timbers, opening gate and voltage controlled amp are tweaked interactively. Also sequencer(strangely 3-5 steps max, not 4 or 8), is not only for arping notes,instead for voltage control other oscillators and combo filter/amp. 

I still do love Moog and East-coast "traditional" subtractive concept, but now dig the West-coast concept as much. Its a privilege to own and play this 1974 designed, slightly improved with usb-midi for modern times analogue gear. I fell in love with Buchla tones/concept when played newly released Arturia VST few years back. (check one synthline track: https://soundcloud.com/samprock/patrol?in=samprock/sets/4-million-thank-you).  Same idea in this track - explore one synths sound. Real synth sound, plus few sounds made by VST in the middle section. Tried to limit other instruments: two Arturia MoogMini basslines, Pigments FX-ing, OB-xa pads, Kick2. 

Buchla (monosynth) line is split to left/right with one phrase apart for more stereo movement. Jun-6 Chorus, Live 11 Echo, FafFilter Pro-C2, Timeless 3, Pro-R in different amount/locations across the song. Mastered with UAD OxideTape, IK One, and FabFilters Pro-MB compressor and Pro-L2 final limiter.

Lately loving play Atruria Oberheim rendition OB-Xa VST, lead sound in verses 2, 3. Backed by Buchla Easel embellishments and Pigments synthlines. Main ballsy bassline is by ANA2, subbass is MiniMoog. Played with Push 2 Ableton Live 11, mastered with UAD, IK, and FabFilters. The cover art made with PhotoLeap app on iPhone. Jamn' my Fender Strat the other day, found some nice chords progression. Built something around it same day, using LogicX on Mac. Unrefined and unpolished playing, guys. Layered bass, rhythm and played impromptu solo over. I dug up the rack from a hard-drive, so this couple years recording comes as-is, no refinments. Contains pure inspiration with the mistakes provided :)   Juss having some fun...  :D

Why do I have ProckJet acct? To share improvs and daily fun with music, just like this ☮   

I had a blast twisting knobs at my Moog Subsequent 37 CV (on Prockjet cover)for an hour or so, having bassline and lead on top. Other day mixed it with new Wavetable and other synths in Ableton Live 10. Explored Replika reverb by Native Instruments. Just 3 basslines, 3 pluck, and 3 lead synth. Kick from BassISM2. Simple :) 

Hope you find it fun ... or fall a sleep and have a great chill, which will be "mission-accomplished" for Prockjet. Exploring sound and inducing vibe is mesmerizing process. Bob Moog said this in the documentary you can find on YT. I extracted a quote on that:

..... P.S. Yes, Bolero is my favorite Classical piece. Tops! that I remembered somehow after playing this and listening few days later :) (not calling this any way close to Ravel, just messing up and having Nocturnal fun ... and it was played in the morning. You don't want to hear my late night mourning for sure :P

Can a track do with only kick, snare, and a guitar?  In this new Fender Reprise played just recently, I wanted to enjoy the purity of clear tones and sonority and space in between them, hope you enjoy :)

I like the goings and would only play some Floydish and JMJ like synths far in the depth. But only to enhance the feel. Also played lots with NI Replika Reverb and Ableton Echo here. One special is classy green Tape Delay from IK Multimedia, liking the tool very much.

Game's Not Over (Power Up)

I played the track this summer, riding trains between Roma, Napoli, and Pompeii. The cover is the photo of Vesuvius eruption victim from Pompeii. I cannot describe the feeling we got spending a hot day in the ancient ruins. I found this session in my Gadget Prockjets on phone. I guess the track translates the feeling better.

This is what I played on Maui. Hope it could pass along the island atmos and underwaters vibe. Did not try to replicate it though, it just came out.  100% Korg Gadget app driven by OP-Z by Teenage Engineering (no wires, midi goes over bluetooth).
