In less than a year, Malaki has taken the Los Angeles scene by storm delivering exactly that. Melding the power and riffing of Modern Metal with soulful vocals, Malaki was born as a studio project for guitarist Joshua Buma.  

Crafting songs and a musical landscape in his vision, Josh began reaching out to musicians he believed could help bring Malaki to life.  Woven around the guitar riffs of Michael Breamer and Joshua Buma lies the backbone of the group: Bassist Joe Guerra (ex Flatline) and drummer Dave Gentry (ex Otep, Triggerpoint). Together, they provide thunderous pinpoint rhythms complimenting the melodic riffage that Buma envisioned. It was during this time that Malaki sought out the right vocalist to compliment their unique sound. 

After parting ways with their first singer in January 2014, Malaki was on the search for something different. It wasn’t until early summer that Malaki found what they were looking for in Wisconsin vocalist Shauna Lisse (ex Mind Drop). Her voice synched perfectly with what the band envisioned.

After Shauna’s relocation to Los Angeles, it was time to get to work. The band played a couple shows and recorded their first EP which was released on  December 13th 2014. After wrapping up The Blue EP, the band went on a short tour of the west coast to promote the release. A early spring tour followed with a showcase at the legendary SXSW music festival. Immediately after returning to Los Angeles they began recording their next release at legendary Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood while planning several  national tours for 2015.

A  band that’s true to their words : Music. No gimmicks. No bullshit.              

Malaki is music without compromise, and the very essence of artistic integrity.

Singer Songwriter/Band based in Sacramento CA

Intervals are a progressive, instrumental powerhouse, hailing from Toronto, Ontario , Canada. With roots firmly planted in metal, and inspiration ranging from fusion to electronic, the four-piece wields a gripping sonic aesthetic. Energetic riffs, coupled with memorable melody take the listener through a myriad of moods and soundscapes.

With primary guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Marshall, and internet drumming sensation Anup Sastry (live drums for Jeff Loomis) at the helm, the two deliver an exciting perspective on modern melodic metal. Their focus being on challenging themselves technically, while maintaining memorable hooks to draw in any music fanatic.

The band released their debut EP, "The Space Between" in December, 2011, which saw critical acclaim in the online metal community. Fall 2012 will see the band release a follow-up EP entitled, "In Time", brimming with Intervals' brand of catchy melodic prog. Teaming with timeless, forward thinking music, Intervals are the soundtrack to the future.
