A collection of ideas and tracks recorded, performed, manipulated, sampled, and edited using only the OP-1. No mastering or DAW's involved - just tracks dumped straight from the unit itself.

Some of these may go on to be finished tracks (which would involve all of the above mentioned).

Here's another OP-1 sketch, which I'm about to start working on in Ableton as a full track.

Seventein (OP-1 Sketch)

I experimented with created measure groups on tape with the OP-1, then manipulating them and moving the loop points in time to create something live. It ended up feeling a lot like launching scenes in Ableton to write, but the actual tape controls and the use of the mixer lent a much more organic feel to it... including mistakes.

Venus Envy (Live OP-1)

I sat at the lake and created this on the OP-1. Ripped straight from OP-1 without external mastering / mixing.

Sunset (OP-1 Sketch)

Plastic & Flashing Lights

"All Control" somehow garnered some popularity over the years on its own, the original track not being on any album, but a relatively obscure netlabel compilation called "Of Men And Machines" between rec72 and Audiovisual Theorem.  (found here: http://rec72.net/?p=251)

Some friends from here in Chicago and across the pond were kind enough to offer their own virtuosic and imaginative takes on this strange track, coming together to make this EP - all organized by Marko Medkour at Rec72.

This includes my third self-remix of this track. I really shouldn't remix it anymore...

The ‘Spectrum Riff’ EP comes from Moscow based beat maker and full time firefighter Alexander Goryachev, otherwise known as 813. Five original tracks bursting with juicy synth lines, retro drum machines and waves of thick sub bass, culminating in a sound that is one part boogie, one part hip hop, one part electro and three parts forward thinking bass music. Slugabed (Ninja Tune) appears on remix duty with a drum heavy workout full of shuffling percussion,deep basslines and strong melodies.

813 has been operating in the much talked about Russian beat scene for a couple of years, appearing on Error Broadcast’s ‘Fly Russia’ compilation and kicking off the RAD Collective label with the ‘Back in Space Jungle’ EP. He has another EP on RAD dropping this year along with other projects and collaborations in the pipeline. As a live act he has supported Moby, DOOM and Hudson Mohawke. The ‘Spectrum Riff’ EP has been a long time in the making, it’s been worth the wait.

Hervé - Bears

This is taken directly out of the disk on my OP-1 that I received a week or so ago. I made this track in the van on a road trip back from Texas. I played most of it by hand in a moving vehicle, so please... be gentle...

Pill Track (OP-1 Sketch)

This is the collection of music I created that made it into the game. I'd like to thank NADEO, namely Gabriel Morin and Eduoard Beauchemin for being truly awesome to work with. It was a unique and challenging experience, but above all, it was a dream come true.
