thanks kosheen for providing the vocals and for doing another remix contest! and good luck to all competitors. i really hope you guys like my approach. comments are seriously appreciated!

some additional info: i've put a lot of effort into finding new harmonies in order to avoid any competition with the original track (surprising how many alternative harmonies were created by the other competitors).. some of the original vocals were vocoded for this. 
unfortunately it's kind of lost in the compression by soundcloud, but i've worked a lot on sound quality and balance as well.
the image is actually taken from sian's website.. it's a picture from the video shoot in front of a greenscreen, which is then reworked for my entry.

Aiming for something more environmental, I wasn't afraid to use some ambient forest sounds along side some morphing, evolving pads and slow, droning bass lines.

Some sort of melancholy call of a melody came to me while I was working on the drums, which usually come first. The rest sort of fell into place... though it's disco in its nature, "Forecast" was inspired by the groggy, exhausted feeling of being on the road before dawn, listening to a municipal weather report to plan the day's route.

Eventually being used as a night-time track, this was compulsively inspired by the late 80's - early 90's flawless taste of game composer Yuzo Koshiro. Though it's suited for a driving game, it's somewhat of a love letter to his work in one of my favorite games of all time, "Streets Of Rage".

The original soundtrack for TrackMania²: Valley was a flying success, in my opinion. I had more time, more experience working with Gabriel Morin at Nadeo, and a better system of organization and communication.
