Strange Day

A jumpy wobbly track that harks back to the fun oldskool vibe of goa and psytrance.

- another track that I arranged incredibly quickly up to the first drop. The sound elements fell in to place, and it had the bouncy vibe I wanted. 
- Originally inspired by "sacred shamens" by Terra and Major 7, a track with a tribal, organic atmospheric opener, but this track has a very different sound. However, part way in to making the track I heard "Plant Medicine" by Avalon & Electric Universe that had used the same tribal chant sample pack as used here in Froggy Wobble, which totally killed my enthusiasm for finishing the track. However, thanks for inspiration from a couple different psytrance producer communities my motivation was renewed, and here we are.
- I always set myself a challenge when making tracks, for this track it was transitioning from triplets to quarter note part way through the track, whilst still keeping the essence of the track. That meant creating basslines that could fit both with minimal reworkings, and using percussive loops in both sections - which required a lot of editing. 
- a lot of hard lessons learnt around gratuitous use of clippers, saturators and spectral resonance tools which meant the final stages of the arrangement and preparation for mixing and mastering took way too many iterations!

Ambient with a bit of tension in the middle from an arp on a Moog Subsequent 37. The other synths are VSTs from Analog Lab V: Emulator II, Prophet-5, Pigments, CZ.
Seriously influenced by the second sides from David Bowie's Berlin trio (Low, Heroes, Lodger).

Sleepy morning butterflies

Been listening to some Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre and got inspired (just bought Helsinki concert tickets :) ). And then a video of Jan Hammer shredding a keytar. Awesome. I don't have a keytar (yet...) so shredded a keyboard. Less awesome, but sounds the same ;)

This is almost all Arturia Analog Lab virtual synths... when it works. With the addition of the MiniBrute VST Ableton is crashing the first two times I load up this track. 

The Simmons Toms and deep bass are DX7 through Dexed.
