The 7th release on Juicebox Music, we head over to the mediterranean shores of Greece to pick up the much awaited single "Depth Of Emotion" from Harris Sgourdas aka 'Blusoul'. With a knack for creating memorable melodies and intense grooves, Blusoul's productions have been a firm favorite for many key industry players over the past few years. With "Depth of Emotion", Blusoul gets straight to business with thumping grooves, droning basslines, heavy chord stabs & a catchy little vocal riff that sets things into motion. Enter the euphoric plucked arps, acidic lines with a progression that lures you in and you've got a winning combination. 

Stepping up to bat first for a remix are the Serbian DJ/Production duo - Progress Inn, aka Janko Dragovic & Igor Kadic. Known for their signature energetic sound that landed them releases on Vapour Recordings, Temporum and Lowbit, the Belgrade boys firmly stamp their sonic imprint with finesse. Heavy grooves and a nod to the original's elements with clever edits sends the track into the next level. 

The second remix for this release comes from Israel's "Lonya". Being the resident for the renowned The Cat & The Dog club as well as the leading force behind Asymmetric Records gives him ultimate bragging rights. Appearing on labels like Sudbeat, Parquet, Flow Vinyl and even Defected, are a testament to Lonya's quality. He delivers a groovier interpretation with hypnotic soundscapes & buzzing drones, aimed straight for the darker rooms.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Under the guise of DyE we find 'Taki 183,' an enigmatic debut Album from Juan de Guillebon; long time bass player to the demanding training of the Parisian electronic scene - Joakim &amp; The Disco, Botox and Maestro. DyE has said of 'Taki 183' that it is a personal and progressive urban design' already popular with artists as diverse as James Murphy, DJ Mehdi, Erol Alkan and James Holden. Sometimes dreamy electro-pop or excessive shoe gaze, and then often introverted dubstep and hallucinogenic nu-disco.

Around about the year 2007, when the infamous Web 2.0 appeared -the period during the history of the Internet, where the user became, not just the content, but the star of the data world. DyE is fascinated by the infinity opportunity to be both anonymous and popular from any Place in the World. As a Call and Response to this 'Golden period' DyE created a little project called 'One Week, One Track!' which saw him upload a new track to MySpace every week. Artists such as Zombie Zombie, Cosmo Vitelli and Feadz all waxed lyrical about this new artist, but DyE said nothing of his diabolical plan to be both anonymous and popular to anyone.

The first release was the 12" 'Imperator,' but again, no word from DyE. In reflection he comments that this period his music was "a total mystery to me. I was more attracted by blogging as an art of fact then speaking of my music." So when the second single came 'Cristal d'Acier' DyE assimilates that his mood was much more "wonky" and as such the release communicated itself with its 'Remix from DJ Mehdi and a sleeve made of Gold and Cylco Glasses.' Later DyE contributed the track 'Nike' for the Tigersushi 10 Year Anniversary release which saw him in a "smells like teen spirit kind of mood" completing the blue print for 'Taki 183' just in time for a small sabbatical from the "Night Excess" which gave DyE of clarity to realise much of the album was complete; 'Vader,' 'Taki 183' and 'Star Vac' were all born during One Week, One Track,' whist 'Nike,' 'Cristal d'Acier' and 'Dark White' all featured as catalogue releases on Tigersushi. But this is not a compilation of tracks this is collection of tracks "to create my sci-fi universe: each track is the colour of a mood, made of a time, experience and loss." The sentiment couldn't be more true, with 'Immortals Only' mapping a period of loss to DyE and 'Matthias &amp; Charlotte' suggesting a milestone on a great journey to a happier place. Between these two key tracks is 'Hole In Ocean,' which is a nightmare that DyE enjoys relishing in, possibly suggesting the inevitability that one day this body of work will be released, which brings us to date.

'Taki 183' was recorded using analogue equipment such as Roland TR606, Moog Source and a Korg Poly Six into Pro-Tools. DyE plans to take the album on the road and is already booked at Social Club, Pompidou Centre and Le Machine. Lovers of the album can expect to see DyE "pushing the limits of spectral delirium and Tightness." After all, in his own words, he is "the man who speaks to the ears of robots."

Following on from "Dive" on our first EP "OUTBREAK", we aimed to create something even more monstrous to follow it in our live set. “Subvert” is one of The Raged's hardest tracks to date...it starts off as a techy drum & bass roller, descends into a dark breakdown and barely gives you the chance to brace yourself before smashing your head in with the drop…. now is the time to Subvert.

The final track we wrote for the EP, we wanted to make something that was relentless and techy. Existence is hard hitting and dark as fuck, with its face ripping bassline drawing influence from the origins of Dn'B.

After a chance meeting at their debut EP launch party, it was only a matter of time before The Raged got Hannah Small into the studio to put the finishing touches to this breakbeat anthem. Ever since Norwegian mystery man Gundelach debuted in late 2015 with his singe “Spiders”, he has quietly been making waves. In the Nordics it was a radio hit, and landed him festivals slots on some of this coming summer’s biggest stages like Øya, Roskilde and more. Internationally, it was #1 on Hype Machine, picked by Pharrell for his Beats1 show and garnered millions of streams. 

After recently playing Sentrum Scene in Oslo to 1700 people, his new single ”Fjernsynet” (Norwegian for television set) is poised to lift him to new heights with its cooly delivered falsetto over a driving rhythm accentuated by beautiful analog-electronic production. It’s a broody, melancholic and catchy anthem for driving late at night and the centre piece of his forth-coming debut EP.

The remixes are raising the bar even higher with Fur Coat going towards the deep electronic melodic house direction with deep pulsating basslines, rolling grooves, electronic themes and superb spacey futuristic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The 29th release on Cid Inc's Replug imprint sees a fresh collaboration between two of the scenes most exciting producers. Hen Falah aka Khen is one of the most touted up and coming producers from the talent rich Israeli electronic music scene. Working solo or sometimes in conjunction with Guy Mantzur Khen's productions have appeared on Whose Haus, Movement, Lowbit,  Somebody's Story and Bermudos. He's also a regular behinds the decks at one of Israeli most famed venues 'Cat & Dog'. Erik Petterson aka Sonic Union has been a major force in electronic music for many years; as one half of the famed duo Bastards of Funk & Sonic Union Erik productions have been played by Carl Cox, Hernan Cattaneo and Sasha. Khen and Sonic Union's first collaboration together is entitled 'Introspection' and it comes with remixes from Cid Inc. and Tommi Oskari.

BIO:
Progress Inn is the DJ/production duo consisting of Janko Dragovic and Igor Kadic. Both guys, originally from former Yugoslavia, after many years of living in Perth, Australia, are now back in Serbia. As Progress Inn, they make and play a variety of music, but their main sound is a blend of progressive, house and techno with the main ethos that it has to be groovy and it has to be deep.

They started DJ-ing together and releasing their music in 2008. In 2009 they embarked on their first European tour. They delivered their trademark energetic sound around Europe, appearing at gigs in Spain, Slovakia and Serbia. They played to crowds who fell in love with their music as much as people from Perth! In 2010 they established themselves firmly as one of Perth’s favourite acts culminating in the appearance at Stereosonic Festival, which was followed by their appearance at Future Music Festival and Creamfields in 2011 and 2012.

Ranking number 1 in the Perth Dance Music Awards in the Best Progressive DJ category in 2010 and 2011, Progress Inn gigs have been hailed by many as exceptional. In their sets Igor and Janko seamlessly weave their broad musical influences through energetic and groovy music that always has the dance floor burning. By utilising two laptops and MIDI controllers, they manage to create a rich sound and emotive atmosphere that is quite unique. They have supported numerous world class acts such as Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Timo Maas, James Zabiela, Lee Burridge, Guy J, Robert Babicz, Radio Slave, Xhin, Satoshi Tommiie, 16 Bit Lolitas, James Holden, Stephan Bodzin, Yousef, Kasey Taylor and Jamie Stevens to name a few. 

Their productions have been getting a lot of attention as well getting played by many big names in the industry like Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Cid Inc, Anthony Pappa, Kasey Taylor, Marcelo Vasami etc. To date they have had releases on some fantastic labels like Vapour, Sound Avenue, Lowbit, Temporum, Suffused and many more. They also run their own label, Obstacles Recordings, which they use to promote all sorts of quality music.

Expect to hear the name Progress Inn a lot more in 2014 as they take on Europe and the rest of the world!
