This song is in 5/4 time.  It feels a little off to me.  Perhaps I hit too many bad notes.  Maybe I overloaded it with instruments.  I play nylon string acoustic guitar (3 tracks), fretless Jazz bass, violin, and viola on this song.  Other sounds are midis available in Cubase.  My DAW is Cubase.  I use Izotope - Ozone for Mastering.  The title comes from the street we lived on in Chesterfield Missouri.

Fairway Bend

For the 31st Solar Kama Sutra song I decided to challenge myself a bit and do something in 7/4 time.  I tried remembering a band I heard do that and thought, "Isn't Pink Floyd's "Money" in 7/4 time?"  I remembered hearing it and thinking it was...

...  Turns out it is!  So for that reason I thought of Pink Floyd, and tried to do a Pink Floydish sound.    It's also a nod to Radiohead's "Pyramid Song".  I tried to capture the same feeling that song gives me, but with Solar Kama Sutra this time. 
(by the way, Solar Kama Sutra has always been just one person.  It's just the name for what I call the music)

Since Radiohead already used "Pyramid" which is well-known since ancient Egypt to be the coolest shape, I had to go with something else.  "Sphere Song" and "Cube Song" ?...  Well...  Those song titles just aren't gonna work....   Maybe "Dodecahedron Song"?....  Hmm... That actually sounds pretty catchy...  Feel free to use it!  

 My vocals are used more heavily on this track than it seems.  Throughout the track I tried to make my vocals sound like guitars and other instruments

  And definitely hats off to Pink Floyd for making a hit song in a 7/4 time signature.   How many times has that been done before?!

And of course, hats off to Stonehenge.  The ultimate inspiration for this track

Stonehenge Song

I dedicated the song "Monique" to two women: 
First of all to my grand aunt Monique, who was murdered as a Jew by the Nazis in Auschwitz. I know her only from photos and the anecdotes of my mother. Through her tragic life story, her unique face with the big, jet-black eyes, I still feel connected to her today. 
In this song I imagined meeting her shortly before her gassing in Auschwitz. How I accompanied her to the gas chambers, how we got to know each other a little before the inevitable happened.  
      
Secondly, this song is dedicated to another Monique. Her stage name was "Barbara" and she was a charismatic French chanson singer. What would I have given to be at one of her concerts. But when she had her big time, especially in the 1960s, I was still much too young. So all I have left are their Youtube videos, of which I would like to put a link here:

Her face and her eyes, her charisma and expression remind me so much of my grand aunt.  Like her, she was a Jewish woman of French descent. And with songs like "Göttingen" she contributed significantly to an understanding between the Jews and the land of the perpetrators- Germany.
