Born in Chile, Manu Ela is a multi-faceted artist based now in Berlin. Handling the brush as an illustrator as well as the needle as a tattoo artist, she also sings in an acoustic show with her ukulele and her pan flute and produces music in a self-taught way. Inspired always by the nature, she has found an own original style in the slow electronic music, collaborating nowadays with friends and artists such as Monkyman, Leeu, Dan Bay, Rodrigo Gallardo, Barda, Carla Valenti, Omeria and much more. Her lyrics are always in order to heal herself and as a consecuence of this magic process spread it to the the world.

Yes! Lets Mbuki Mvuki with this hot and steamy summer mix Mireille Minty crafted for us! ‘Mbuki Mvuki’ comes from the Bantu tribe in Africa, meaning that irresistible feeling when you totally get in the vibe of dancing and cheering that you just have to take off all your clothes so you can dance around naked. Mireille Minty recorded this mix on a very hot day in her hometown Zurich. And as the meaning of Mbuki Mvuki is intrinsically linked to hot weather to her, she didn’t need much else to transfer the feeling she wanted to share.
 
Mireille Minty picked up her DJ skills only 2 years ago, when she was at an event where her favourite https://soundcloud.com/mia-kaltes played. She felt it was time to join the sisterhood behind the desks and asked Mia if she wanted to teach her. And so her journey began. By that time Mireille was in the midst of a pretty hardcore study, but she got pulled into that delightful rabbithole called playing music - and basically forgot everything else around her (which can be quite problematic at times when you have many things on your plate....)

A few weeks ago Mireille and I met at the Garbicz Festival and we were so happy to feel that the organisation made a great effort in booking many Flinta* DJ’s. When Mireille started playing gigs she experienced excessive mansplaining behind the decks, and observed how male DJ’s oftentimes seem to have a much stronger self esteem than women when it comes to owning that you're a good DJ (may it be justified or not ;) ) Female artists tend to keep a lower profile. Without wanting to generalise her general conclusion is: quality has nothing to do with someone’s degree of popularity. 

The Mbuki Mvuki Movement is here to encourage and support Flinta artists. To help close the gap step by step. If you feel like learning something new, don’t hesitate! Don’t limit yourself and don’t fear embarrassment. Acknowledge your progress. Be ambitious if you want to, but be indulgent with yourself. And most of all, support each other and enjoy the ride <3

I played at a summer party. Again, some people asked for it. It was a great evening :) @umannto was playing aswell.
Also there was a very adorable child climbing behind me in the trees to get a better view over the setup and she asked like a thousand questions. She had pigtails like the 70s german TV star "Pipi Langstrumpf" so this title is for you little girl! Edit: Audio is a mix of the recorded master directly from my denon prime go and a microphone I put up there. It's not super crisp but good enough :)

with our latest release "Peace & Love" we curated a compilation who we wanted to put artists together who already crossed our ways in the past and artist's who haven't. We also decided to donate all earnings of this release to the Luftbruecke Kabul.

A non-profit organisation that has been working every day since August with their teams in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Germany to find ways to get people out of the country. They evacuate vulnerable families every week, providing transport, food and shelter until the families arrive in Germany.
Unless a specific purpose is defined, we use all donations to evacuate vulnerable people from Afghanistan. For example, we use the money to pay for buses between Kabul (Afghanistan) and Islamabad (Pakistan), accommodation or medical care for Afghans.

If at some point civilian evacuations from Afghanistan are no longer reasonably possible, we will use it elsewhere to support people on the run as effectively as possible.

We have to thank our supporters and fans all over the world and we are very proud about the feedback of the artists who investigated in this release. Only their enthusiasm created this great compilation.
