I am proud to introduce my first collaboration with Mizero (@mizero-two), an artist that I deeply admire and respect. She wrote some awesome lyrics for the weird backing track I had sent to her, and her beautiful, peculiar singing inspired me to further develop the music, overdubbing a bassline and a couple of guitar parts. Quite surprisingly, this piece eventually turned out to have a sort of a rock'n'roll vibe, even though we didn't do that on purpose. In fact, I guess it's a spontaneous combination of several musical styles, just for a change...
To say a word about the concept, I would simply describe it as a love song concerning time. We've thought of time as dark, heavy sonic matter relentlessly leaking out of the hands of a clock and slowly creeping its way into the distance between two lovers, be it a real or a figurative space. Of course, the nature of these lovers itself might be interpreted metaphorically...

Silent Phase

The sunset over the hills of west Austin piecing together this song in my head while delivering food, weaving up mountains feeling strangely nostalgic for unfamiliar places somehow brought all these musical epiphanies together. Kinda crazy what a change of scenery can do.

Tool Boxing

Here's an older song I did a few years ago with the outstanding Reeze.
It's kind of a crossover of stadium rock and hip hop. I guess the song had hit potential.
The 3rd verse is done by Milky Himself.
I had a very productive collaboration with each of them. With enough material for a full album each.
(Unfortunately, they both stopped making music (at least at this level) because of a college degree ...)
The cover shows the two of them performing the song live (Reeze right in front). I was at the mixer.

I've been a longtime admirer of Janine Levinson's work on Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/janinelevinson. I thought immediately thought that this song would be a fine fit for us to do together. I had only heard it randomly played on Spotify about three weeks ago, but really dug the bittersweet cynicism of the lyrics and the fine melody to boot. Janine's vocal work on this is incredible. She was such an awesome person to work with and get to know.

Project I-la-rI is a one-man experimental music project from Turku, Finland. The tunes are all original pieces composed by Ilari I. Rantala. The project began in 2015.

Hello my friends and welcome to my cloud! I play all the instruments in my music (unless noted otherwise in the song), sing, write the lyrics and deal with the aftermath myself. The tracks are recorded and produced with minimal equipment in my home, other places that are qualified as homes and in the field with a portable recorder.
