I'm primarily a guitar player but I'll try to make music with anything you throw at me. When left to my own devices I enjoy recording minimalist ambient pieces and textural soundscapes. My principal sound source for these efforts is manipulated guitar but I often include electronics and organic sources. I enjoy working on collaborations with other musicians. Hailing from rural Vermont, Social Deception is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Matthew Alan Stoddard.  Social Deception's music blends genres, including industrial, electronic, and alternative rock, with a message of social awareness.
