This week's RA Podcast captures @lydole in full flow, combining the old-school vernacular of European and North American techno—reduced rhythms, hi-hats and punchy 909s—with tracks from the new guard (Sev Dah, GiGi FM, D.Dan) sprinkled throughout.

After moving to New York in 2015, the Vietnamese-American sound artist and X-XTRA.SERVICES founder became one of BASEMENT's first residents; the scene built around the revered Queens club has helped nurture their adventurous sound. Lately they've been making waves beyond North America, playing with the MARICAS crew in Barcelona and locking down slots at De School, Bassiani and Draaimolen.

RA.947 is the sound of artful hypnosis: it's techno with elegance, depth and just the right amount of thump. Rig this up on a proper system, turn off the lights and any worries—about the genre's direction of travel, or otherwise—might melt away.

From tech house to progressive, with glimpses of techno and electro, she is a woman on a mission to deliver the grooviest sounds. Pure dance material, made by and for the club.

This dynamic blend has taken her to booths all over Spain, leaving her mark on iconic venues like Razzmatazz, Studio 76, Siroco, The Bassement, Caracol, Apolo… you name it.

In this mix she delivers over 2h15 of the most elegant house at the iconic madrid party Margarita Electronica. So gooooood!!!

Command Control is an emerging London-based producer and DJ who released his first EP “Essence” in 2024. The EP fuses his penchants for Detroit, Dub and UK Techno, with elements from all styles peppered across the release. The EP has been well received with a 10/10 rating awarded in FAZE magazine and support from DJs Tasha, Blasha & Allatt, I. Jordan, Hyperaktivist, The Advent, Dave Clarke, and more.

Fresh off the plane after a hiatus and a performance at Meat Free, he’s prepared a sultry mix of fresh, rhythmic, and seductive body-movers, woven with unreleased tracks from himself and unearthed gems from his vinyl collection.

deep, dubby and groove-filled session from one of our favourite artists who’s music we can’t get enough of, andy martin.

andy has such a distinctive sound, it’s so easy to recognise one of his tracks in a mix as he bridges together his mexican and jamaican roots through a futuristic style that spans across techno and dub leaning towards rich textural influences. it’s honestly quite hard for me to go a mix or radio show without including one of his andy’s tracks. his output is strong with his first release out in 2009 and has been steady ever since! whether that’s self-released, via his imprint mole audio, that he runs alongside didier dlb and where you’ll find collaborations with lee scratch perry and gavsborg, via labels such as ssensorial and discos movimiento or his ambient works which have led to andy performing in musuems, art galleries and festivals like mutek. there’s a touch of andy martin in every corner.

Recorded live at Horoom in mid-March comes this next instalment from Copenhagen representative Martin Gilleshøj. The DJ, co-founder of KUNE music and arts festival, co-founder of Axces Recordings (and their event series), and head at vinyl dispensary Proton Records is a bulwark of the Danish scene. Alongside pals like previous Bassiani Podcast guest Kasper Marott, Søren Kinch and Popmix he’s been key to his city’s cultural offer, blending groovy dancefloor tracks irrespective of narrow genre categorisations with a focus on high-energy nighttime turnouts. It’s a witty spin on clubland fare, iconoclastic and highly danceable stuff that keeps the happy chemicals unanimously flowing. Another plate to spin: he also now runs Buttheads, an intimate club series turned into a record label for the work of selected friends. Through all these outlets, Martin unravels the common thread that binds his work together, laying open a mix of styles and developing something fresh in their coming together. For Bassiani Podcast 261 Gilleshøj flexes his DJ muscles and delivers three hours of wobbly prime time bangers. Fluid, shapeshifting and soulful rhythms, slick selecting flawlessly woven together, a gradual build that perfectly epitomises Horoom’s spirit. This is a sweaty, long haul set from the Danish polymath and clubfloor mischief-maker.
