Madrid, Malmø, Motor City – the places that influenced the sound behind the pure Electro EP, „M-Technology“. The fifth SNC Recs release fuses elements from very different cities from all around the world.

The musician Dip Shim aka. Diego Ocejo unites on „M-Technology“ the Sounds of Detroit, his roots in Spain, and the current scene of Sweden. Dip Shim has many talents; in his formative years, he was active in the Graffiti scene and working as a graphic designer. Turning his lifestyle into education, he moved to Malmø, getting lost within the city’s artistic bubble. It was within this creative environment, that Dip Shim found a place to start a new project. Since 2020 he runs the record store called „Bolero Record-Store“ and started his own label „Malmø Traxx“. One thing is for sure – he knows what he’s doing. By the way, Dip Shims' first release on his own imprint was a top seller on Juno and sold out after only two weeks.

„M-Technology“ is for sure the perfect soundtrack for your favorite Graffiti Film or a rave night that will hopefully take place soonish. With his full analogue producing style, using legendary equipment like the MPC2000 and a selection of classic Roland drum machines, Diego created an outstanding 4 track, full Electro EP which will probably heat up a lot of Dancefloors in the near future.

Grid kick off 2024 with Contrast EP, a mesmerising collection of future-facing tracks from certified one-to-watch Plebeian (@plebeiann). The NYC producer is quickly garnering deserved attention for his acutely detailed and explorative bass productions reminiscent of Objekt and Djrum.

With his EP Plebeian offers up four shimmering and lush dance organisms that exist in an ecosystem entirely of their own. Microscopic drum engineering coupled with flourishes of dubbed out percussion, moments of blissful beauty and infinitely oscillating synth swells, all distilled to create 4D soundscapes that will captivate and intrigue the listener.

Today is a special one in the Delayed world as we’re overjoyed to premiere a tune from the second release on our label, Never Late. The culmination of many months of work, the release day is rapidly approaching, and we could be none the happier. For our second musical guest, we look to Basel-based artist Mjulev and his intimate album titled ‘Clouds Are The Better Birds’. Spanning 8 tracks, Mjulev guides listeners gently into his auditory psyche as he states about the album, 

"Clouds are the better birds - It becomes clear only through observing the clouds how slowly they float up there, so detached from everything that drives us down here. Truly liberated from the forward push and the hustle and bustle, from left to right, from branch to branch, always on guard, not to be accidentally eaten by a cat.

They just float, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter, sometimes faster, sometimes slower. When they meet, they merge and then continue floating as if they had always been one. Looking up feels so timeless. A longing that cannot be satisfied down here. It is omnipresent, but sometimes I manage, just for brief moments, but these are enough to understand what it would be like to be a cloud.

The special thing about the album for me is that it was not created in situations where I was a bird. It was created in moments where I had the headspace to be a cloud, and if it helps others to be like a cloud even just for a short time, then it was worth it, because these moments have become very rare.”

Our premiere, ‘Birds On Acid’ is the final track on the release, a rhythmic come-down that tugs at the heartstrings. Evoking a sense of finality and completeness. The plucks and textures play well with each other, complimenting both the analog fuzz and bright synths. Key features of the entire release.

Birds On Acid, as well in turn, ‘Clouds Are The Better Birds’ will be released on April 12th, so stay tuned.

Séisme magnitude sept qui n’a de cesse de sévir dans le Grand Ouest depuis 2019, Dju:n fait trembler les dancefloors partout où elle passe avec un mélange redoutable de Techno, de Breakbeat et de Bass Music. Son style de mix est vif, frénétique et diablement efficace avec un objectif clair : galvaniser son public en renversant systématiquement ses sets entre phases 4/4 et phases breakées, souvent lorsqu’il s’y attend le moins.
Au-delà de ses activités de DJ, Dju:n est une activiste qui œuvre pour les musiques électroniques au sein de WestSound, association organisatrice de concerts, et de Purple Universe, label et agence de booking créé avec Swooh et Poppie. Insatiable dans ses digs comme dans son implication dans le soutien à la création artistique, elle est une actrice de plus en plus centrale de la scène locale et ne compte pas s’arrêter en si bon chemin !
