Astray, looking for new answers to call home, Eletun Selona once again rises above the stars and up into the mist. The juxtaposition of air and solitude paves the way for a powerful dawning of remembrance as the essence shapes the clouds to form, what we know as, longing. Different shapes give clarity as they emerge, and promises seems to be made that the end of a nightmare is near.

Eletun Selona rinses us with the body of different moods that make up Sunla, it’s remixes and Nol. In “Sunla” we get acquainted with an unfamiliar language rolling over a composition most intricate, where drums and pads combine and blend into the phrases, into eternity. The remixes “Elevate” and “Dub” place Sunla in the realm of dance and hypnotic state and expand upon the idea of the initial outing. “Elusive” takes a wider step into the aforementioned state, but remains within the realm of Sunla, whilst still maintaining the core message. The release ends with “Nol”, not as a farewell, but as a passage into things to come furthermore.

That's the feeling one gets listening to @mjulev's ‘Clouds Are The Better Birds’, a wonderful eight-track album by the Basel, Switzerland-based sound architect.

Mjulev's ambient playground unfolds like a dreamscape; each meticulously crafted layer weaves in and out organically, drawing you deeper into a world of introspection. As you listen, the stress and noise of daily life melt away, replaced by a profound sense of peace and connection. This EP, entitled “Silv'ahn”, bears witness to a deep artistic reflection. Inspired by recordings from the Skåne region (Sweden), Martinou sounds a connection with nature, magnifying stone, salt and wood. The result is, of course, Martinou's own unique aesthetic: pared-down, emotional tracks underpinned by a groove charged with magic.

The tracks “Boulder ridge” and “Sanctuary” reflect an immersion in the peaceful landscapes of the Röstånga nature reserve. In contrast, “Passage of the Silv'ahn” adds an epic touch to the EP, with menacing beings moving through the misty woods. Finally, Orion's remix extends the intrigue with hypnotic techno tinged with wonder.

Martinou - Silv’ahn EP [MLF014] Snippets

Lb Honne's 'Homage to Daylight' is woven with unsettling beauty, evoking the spirit of David Lynch's Blue Velvet. Warm, sustained analog pads wash over the listener, thick and melancholic like the Louisiana air itself. A lush, throbbing breakbeat pulses beneath, mirroring the hidden tension lurking beneath the veneer of Lynch's idyllic suburban setting. A poignant vocal sample adds a raw vulnerability, redolent of Sandy's fragile innocence amidst the encroaching darkness.

Halfway down the road, the bright and uplifting arpeggio slices through the melancholic haze like a burst of sunshine after a long and dreary day. It leaves the listener hopeful and optimistic, wondering if it's the dawn breaking and a promise of a brighter tomorrow. 

“Homage to Daylight” is part of Lb Honne's upcoming "present future / here there" LP, out on April 15 via Project Indigo.

PREMIERE: Lb Honne - Homage To Daylight [Project Indigo]

French producer and hardware specialist @amandraaa returns to Nous'klaer with four stoic, minimal club tracks that are so delicate and deftly produced that they beg to heard as loud as possible and as quietly as possible, allowing the listener to inspect every nook and cranny of Amandra's sonic tapestry. Opener "Lavanvilla" rides a simple drum loop that's filled out by gated, beautiful noise that gets punctuated by vibey Rhodes 7th chord and a constantly evolving 16th percussion pattern that gracefully pushes that song forward. "Palette Doree" and "Edition Collector" are Amandra's most swung offerings, lively sampled percussion and lush synths that offer endless breathing space for these beautiful numbers to exhale. "Pana Ondine" is the dance floor workhorse with a soft and punchy kick, rough stabbing bass hook, wispy ride and a mesmerizing arpeggio, the track never calls your attention loudly but instead gently lures you into its grasp.

Amandra - Edition Collector - Nous'klaer 037 (previews)

Fresh up on the docket this fine Wednesday morning is from the latest release on the supreme Qeone imprint. Helmed by Polygonia, as one of her many projects, she strives to release only quality and we are no strangers to supporting her endeavors. As part of the seventh release, she looks to Mexican producer Gerardo Torres aka MirrorLake and his club friendly Moa EP. Chock full to the gills with a swelling combination of dub and deep techno, the four tracker is another excellent addition to Qeone’s catalog.

Flora Imaginaria leads off the Moa ep, setting a tone for what is to come later. Breakish percussion joined by dubby chords gives a backdrop to a delightfully dancey affair. Images of hazey clubs and nights out abound as MirrorLake’s swelling melodies ebb and flow.

Flora Imaginaria and the remainder of the Moa EP will be released on March 20th.

Today is a special one in the Delayed world as we’re overjoyed to premiere a tune from the second release on our label, Never Late. The culmination of many months of work, the release day is rapidly approaching, and we could be none the happier. For our second musical guest, we look to Basel-based artist Mjulev and his intimate album titled ‘Clouds Are The Better Birds’. Spanning 8 tracks, Mjulev guides listeners gently into his auditory psyche as he states about the album, 

"Clouds are the better birds - It becomes clear only through observing the clouds how slowly they float up there, so detached from everything that drives us down here. Truly liberated from the forward push and the hustle and bustle, from left to right, from branch to branch, always on guard, not to be accidentally eaten by a cat.

They just float, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter, sometimes faster, sometimes slower. When they meet, they merge and then continue floating as if they had always been one. Looking up feels so timeless. A longing that cannot be satisfied down here. It is omnipresent, but sometimes I manage, just for brief moments, but these are enough to understand what it would be like to be a cloud.

The special thing about the album for me is that it was not created in situations where I was a bird. It was created in moments where I had the headspace to be a cloud, and if it helps others to be like a cloud even just for a short time, then it was worth it, because these moments have become very rare.”

Our premiere, ‘Birds On Acid’ is the final track on the release, a rhythmic come-down that tugs at the heartstrings. Evoking a sense of finality and completeness. The plucks and textures play well with each other, complimenting both the analog fuzz and bright synths. Key features of the entire release.
