Already an iconic figure in the underground dance fraternity, Dmitry Molosh now takes another leap forward with the creation of his Proportion record label. Created as vehicle to showcase the Belarusian's extraordinary talent alongside an array of high-profile and rising names, Proportion launches with an eponymously titled EP with an original track from Dmitry himself plus a remix from Finnish legend, Cid Inc.

Dmitry Molosh has presided over a stellar career path. Rising rapidly to global prominence from his Belarus home, Dmitry has witnessed a steep upwards trajectory where his music has reached out across nation boundaries, engaging listeners with a distinctive, powerful and forward-thinking sound. Over 500 production credits can thus be credited to the Dmitry Molosh name as he continues to find his musical talents in considerable demand. Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Gai Barone's Afterglow, Nick Warren's Hope and Cid Inc.'s Replug have all showcased the Belarusian's distinctive sound, while US leviathan Proton Music has also featured an array of original and remix material. Supported by the DJ glitterati that include Guy J, Guy Mantzur and Khen, alongside the celebrated label heads, Dmitry Molosh now opens his account on Proportion.

The title track of the same name is a stunning affair. Redolent in the trademark characteristics that have made him such a sought-after producer, a chest-thumping kick anchors a glorious, head-shaking bass groove and woodblock percussion. Ticking hi-hats add to the collage as a beautifully imagined synth motif filters its way across the 8-minute piece. A further bassline adds weight and dynamism before a stripped back breakdown creates a gateway for a rousing crescendo of white-noise and pitched effects. These then pave the way for the sultry bassline cadence and synth line so prominent in the early stages, to work their magic once more in the second half.

Cid Inc. require little introduction to the underground dance faithful. A legendary figure for two decades, the Finnish star has been responsible for entertaining audiences around the world with his immaculately crafted DJ sets while creating some the finest moments in modern electronic music history. Seeing his work featured on legion luminary imprints that includes the likes Lost and Found, Einmusika JEE Productions and Sudbeat Music, the latter saw Dmitry Molosh and Cid Inc. join forces on August 2021's "Impending Storm" to devastating effect. Cid Inc.'s own Replug label has also been a potent vehicle for his own music while furthering the musical careers of a plethora of other artists who have gone on to become dominant forces in the global dance music arena.

An esteemed music engineer and renowned producer, the Cid Inc. remix of "Proportion" is characterised by an intricate and dynamic percussive groove that propels the track forward. Accompanied by a hypnotic bassline sequence and similarly mesmerising arpeggio, melodic elements for the original ripple to the fore in a sublime atmospheric collage. Smooth pads and white-noise flourishes build before falling away to a spine-tingling drop, as the rhythmic and bassline foundation provide a club-friendly closing section.

Tash's Movement Recordings opens the new year by welcoming Not Demure back to the label for his first EP. Born in Argentina and now based in Spain, Not Demure first emerged in 2017 with releases courtesy of Hitclub and TOTUM Music. Gaining momentum and fans quickly, the Mar del Plata native went on to showcase his music via LAIKA Sounds, Magician On Duty and Univack. Also finding a home on Movement Recordings, Not Demure's contribution to the label's 'ProgNoesis' Vol. 1 collection went on to be played by Guy J, and still sits at the top of his Beatport best sellers over a year later. Having released his 'New Resilience' EP via Movement's Limited division in November of last year, Not Demure now steps back up to the main imprint with 'Aifos', alongside a remix from Weird Sounding Dude.

As Not Demure continues to find a healthy balance between organic and progressive house, it is the melodic sounds of the title selection which lead the release off. Backed by punchy beats and a warm, chunky groove, its laid-back energy is fluid from the start. As the break approaches, tantalizing arps and warm, textural drifts marry beautifully atop layers of neatly tailored percussion. The main arp continues to rise across the centrepiece, flowing through effervescent modulation and tactfully building towards an emotive final movement. The companion piece 'Deux' follows with an even greater emotional disposition. Colourful synth phrasing and fragmented melodies blanket a warm, voluptuous groove for an immediate heartwarming effect. Timely vocal accents add further depth across the break, before smoothly segueing into a seductive finale.

Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Aifos' is Weird Sounding Dude. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist is now considered one of his country's most beloved progressive house producers. As a favourite of the genre's premiere tastemakers, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Anjunadeep, Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music, while receiving play and support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Coming off his best year to date, Weird Sounding Dude gets 2022 off to a stylish start with a stellar take on 'Aifos'. Clocking in at nine magical minutes, the Bangalore resident finds success with a sleeker, more dubbed out approach. Pulsating grooves and dusty percussion marry beautifully with muted chord stabs and balmy atmospheres. Hopeful pads continue to rise across the main break, bringing moments of calm, while looping rhythms and a wave of noise spark a groove-centric drop and effects-laden finale. Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint begins their 2019 journey by showcasing new interpretations of Matias Vila's 'Ahora'. Originally released in July of 2018 on the label's 'Summer Sampler', it found the Argentina born, Spanish based artist crafting an organic, highly creative production with a myriad of psychedelic concepts. Earning praise from Adana Twins, Audiofly and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, 'Ahora' now gets remade by Stelios Vassiloudis and Eran Aviner & Hermanez for the new year. 

The second and final interpretation of 'Ahora' finds Eran Aviner and Hermanez presenting their debut collaborative effort. As one of Belgium's most cutting edge artists, Eran Aviner is highly selective in choosing his production projects. His short but meticulous discography is highlighted by appearances on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Also the co-founder of 'Edge', a leading nightlife brand and record label in Belgium, Eran has shared the stage with Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Kiasmos and more. Also hailing from Belgium and making his Sound Avenue debut is Michael Coninx aka Hermanez. Perhaps best known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music, Suara, Traum and his own Aella imprint, the Belgian artist has recently found a place in the deeper, dreamier spectrum of house with an EP on Guy J's Lost & Found Records and a soon to be released project on All Day I Dream. Now pairing up with fellow countryman Eran Aviner, the duo provide a stunning interpretation of 'Ahora' to close the release out. Building hypnotically; warm beats, organic drums and rugged bass tones unite for a highly rhythmic, free flowing framework. Smooth chord changes deliver a subtle yet powerful shift in emotive energy, as astral effects further saturate your senses as the main break commences. Coming to full fruition, the musical narrative evolves through timely modulation, creating a near two minute stretch of effervescent electronics and heartfelt melodic clusters, elegantly peaking and perfectly setting up a rousing finale. "The Argentinean artist also lays claim to an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden. Now making his much anticipated Movement Recordings debut, Sebastian presents his ‘Machines’ EP.

Beginning the title cut Sebastian explores the deeper side of his studio repertoire. Free and flowing from the outset it’s well carved low end provides momentous swing while quirky hooks and timely vocal gates fill in the framework. Stripping down into the main break, the vocal narrative expands, opening up a spiritual reservoir before effortlessly shifting energy into a buoyant finale act.

Poignant keys and wispy atmospherics elevate the mood during a second act bridge, before melting down into an otherworldly centrepiece led by a spiritual vocal, perfectly setting up a cosmic finale. It rounds out a superb Movement Recordings debut for Sebastian, setting up what should be an incredible year for the talented Argentine. Highly recommended."
