While We Wait has been tipped by some as being top of the bunch.

The origins of the track stretch to the immediate days of uncertainty, when the world found itself in lockdown as winter turned to spring. While We Wait still remains as powerful a mantra as 2020 approaches its end, and has all the hallmarks of Daxson's outstanding ability to connect an audience with truly memorable and touching melodies.

As Markus Schulz embarked on his In Search of Sunrise 16 exploration, While We Wait was identified as the first essential piece of the journey, and for good reason. We couldn't be more proud of this piece by Daxson, and hope that you will embrace its emotion too.

Talla 2XLC returns to That’s Trance with a massive nearly 8  minutes uplifting trancer called DARKness. His notes for the track:  I am a huge fan of the Netflix TV show "Dark." The atmosphere of this show has inspired me to do an uplifting track dedicated to it”. You can expect a magnificent slice of uplifting trance with the dark moody twist that Talla 2XLC is an expert to inject in his tracks. Powerful bouncy beats, thumping rocking techy drums and most danceable bassline that you will hear in the coming months. The first short breakdown sets the scenery and provides the mysterious tone of the track. The main breakdown is long and cinematic with plenty of ambient sounds to create the sonic soundscape to escape and the explosion of the euphoric synths build the tension until the beat returns for the incredible climax that is uplifting but still dark and unpredictable. Don’t be fooled, That’s Trance!

An artist with a rich musical heritage, Hassan Rassmy has found himself at the vanguard of Egypt’s underground dance scene. Able to boast a decade-long involvement in music production, a July 2008 debut on Opendecks Records opened the door for a host of original and remix production material to light up the catalogues of such leading imprints as Lowbit and Per-vurt Records. Making his Suffused Music debut in October 2017 with “Harper”, we return to the deep flowing melodies of title track with remixes from three icons of the progressive house sound.

With his Hot TuneiK moniker, Hookah label and club nights, Diego Carreón has found himself representing some of the finest talents at gigs, while simultaneously performing behind the decks with such notable stars as Guy J, Nick Warren and Henry Saiz. In tandem, a production career has seen the Hot TuneiK name allied to a host of impressive imprints that include Balkan Connection, Particles and Proton Music showcasing a strength and passion for his own sonic identity. A pair of remixes for Andrez in September and Steve Sai in December 2016 mark the Hot TuneiK relationship with Suffused Music and it is a pleasure to welcome him back with a typically impressive remix. Taking the core melodic themes of Rassmy’s original, a rich lead line immediately excites in the opening stages, backed by an intricate and relaxed groove that anchors the free-flowing melodic phrasing. Waxing and waning with ease, the introduction of a new and subtle arpeggio in the third movement adds a new and exciting direction to “Harper”.

A Hungarian producer with over 500 hundred credits to his name Krisztian Kajdi has made a sizeable name for himself with his Kay-D moniker. A notable trumpeter, classical training saw Kajdi study at the conservatory for 3 years before a passion for electronic music took hold. Releases for the likes of Stellar Fountain, PHW Elements and Mistique Music illustrate continued success as 2015’s “Eternal Sun” and September 2019’s “Voyagers” EPs shone a light on the Kay-D contribution to the Suffused Music catalogue. Returning to remix Hassan Rassmy, a smooth rolling groove tied to a dominant kick and effortlessly cadenced bassline ushers in a rippling arpeggio that supplies a sonic anchor for elements from the original to flow underneath. A new lead line adds depth and character at the mid-point breakdown, before the track explodes into the third movement with an epic collage of sounds demonstrating Kay-D’s skill and craftsmanship.

Able to harness early passions in electronic music into a successful career, Vladimir Radisic’s Vlada D’Shake soubriquet has been the source of a rich seam of musical talent. Finding favour with fans and musical peers alike, over 250 production credits can be attributed to the Serbian’s name with Balkan Connection, Bonzai Progressive and Downtech Music all witness to the Vlada D’Shake sound with a raft of original and remix production material. Furthermore, Suffused Music has been central in promoting Vlada’s work after a 2014 debut remixing LoQuai and March 2016’s “Spook On” EP with subsequent remixes from Tatsama and Matt G. Welcoming him back to the label, Vlada D’Shake hits the mark with a unique and groove-inspired interpretation of “Harper” as an intricately crafted percussive cadence lays the foundations for an acid-tinged lead line to filter in and out of sonic range with its roots firmly in Rassmy’s original. As further original elements make themselves heard, particularly at the mid-point breakdown, Vlada’s skill is to sculpt “Harper” into a highly original and innovative new offering.

An artist influenced by 1980s icons Depeche Mode and The Cure, Peter Szabo has carved out an impressive name for himself under a variety of production monikers. Represented on his Suffused Music debut by his Calzedon Guy alter-ego, the Hungarian artist has continued to advance the underground house scene since an October 2017 debut for Techno Vinyls Records. Going on to feature on the likes of Stellar Fountain, Astrowave and Clinique, “Nothing” is characterised by a rich rhythmic framework that lilts hypnotically across the near 9-minute piece. Delayed stabs enter the fray at the second movement as a spoken sample adds intrigue. Subtle pads provide texture and depth as the track progresses into the second half in a stripped back offering of impressive creativity.

An artist with a growing portfolio of music to his name, Sapienta has ridden the crest of a wave over the course of 2020. Making his debut for Star Drive Records in February, an array of original and remix production material has gone on to feature for Stellar Fountain, Consapevole Recordings and the ever-impressive Suprematic in December. Another Suffused Music debutant, the Sapienta remix bristles with energy as a heavy beat, chugging percussive groove and growling bassline lay the foundations for new melodies to evolve out of the original. Echoing Calzedon Guy’s motifs at the breakdown, a swathe of original production material is wrapped around “Nothing” to create a unique and impressive interpretation that makes its mark in the third movement with evocative counterpoint phrasing.

Another 2020 entrant into the underground dance scene, Secretvision has impressed with an eclectic release portfolio that include progressive house, trance and techno offerings since a March debut for Techno Vinyls Records. Going on to feature for the likes of Astrowave, Puzzle Music Underground and LW Recordings, the Hungarian artist who had imagined a life as an electronic music producer from childhood, provides another unique remix of “Nothing”. Paying close attention to the melodic themes of the original, a sparkling arpeggio adds another layer of intrigue which develops further at the breakdown in reduced tempo phrasing that builds in energy into the third movement. A powerful beat and rapid-fire hi-hat percussion provide a more than capable rhythmic framework to carry the melodic elements in an intelligent and dynamic interpretation.

An accomplished DJ with over 130 mixes to his name for Hungarian radio’s, TopFM, Modular Gate is a name that has had a connection with music from the start of the millennium. Reflecting his “massive but melodic” style, a 2014 debut for SoundKeeK Records began a career that has gone on to see music released on Hot Cue Music, Astrowave and Trippy Code. Appearing on Suffused Music for the first time, the Hungarian’s remix retains the original’s melodic theme at its core, while adding a powerful randomly triggered arpeggio that creates forward momentum. Additional chord structure and a ‘wall of sound’ breakdown hit hard before continuing into the third movement. A distinctive dub cadence adds to the Modular Gate remix of “Nothing” in an interpretation that pays tribute to his “maximalism” approach to music.

Calzedon Guy’s “Nothing” is certainly something special with remixes from Sapienta, Secretvision and Modular Gate.
