A legendary name, Filip Kaczmarek has continued to innovate and capture the imagination of the underground dance music fraternity with his Kobana production soubriquet. Evergreen and ever-impressive, his work for Proton Music over a decade and half-century of production credits saw a career highlight in 2014's full-length album, "The Riddle". 2015's "Freefall" and 2016's "Boyhood" EPs continued the flow of original music as the Polish artist now returns with his "Light Flooding" EP. The title track showcases a glorious array of hypnotic textures and sound design wrapped around a hefty beat and staccato bassline. Building through a rising progression of pads and white noise effects, the second half erupts into a pulsating wave of sounds that reintroduces melodic elements and subtly cadenced guitar samples to create a driving finale. The partner track sees the smoother deep house vibe of "Focus" evolve through grooved bass pattern, ticking hats and deep kick. Simultaneously, an LFO'd synth rips through the mid-range in smooth synchrony as rich pads add depth. Hitting its stride in the second half a repetitive vocal cut once again features heavily in the dynamic denouement as the track roll forward apace.

James Monro's contribution to Proton Music has seen a blossoming relationship, resulting in a plethora of high-calibre original material. 2013 and 2015's "Fonik" and "Nectar" EPs paved the way for the full-length "In The Ether" album to follow in 2017, while 2019 marked a new chapter in Monro's portfolio as the first in a new EP series saw "Sanctuary, Vol. 1" hit stores with five sparkling original tracks. With Volume 2 set to follow, James Monro returns to Proton to showcase his remix skills with a rip-roaring interpretation of "Light Flooding" that bludgeons a path forward with chest-reverberating bassline and metronomic percussive drive. Imaginatively making use of Kobana's original components, familiar sounds and effects make their mark while a swathe of original material from the James Monro studio peppers the production, not least in a mesmeric new bassline and sumptuous melodic motif that are heard in the second half after a wave of low-end drama at the breakdown.

After a clutch of releases on Particles, not least in October 2020's "End of an Era" EP that showcased a pair of original tracks plus remixes from Doyeq and about : river, Davide Ferrario now makes his Proton Music debut. Remixes of Rudy and LADS have already seen the rising Italian star reinterpret Proton Music artists as he now appears on the flagship imprint with a typically smooth and elegant offering that reinterprets "Focus" with progressive house flair. Cleverly building exquisite new melodic layers into his remix, a beautifully evocative piano piece graces the breakdown before the vocal cuts so prominent in Kobana's original, make their presence felt alongside a swathe of new chord progressions and richly textured pads. Fragments of the piano refrain swirl into the second half with ease to create a dynamic and hugely impressive debut from Davide Ferrario.

A seasoned professional with a long history at the top of the underground music scene, Hot TuneiK has regularly hit new heights on Particles and Proton Music. Launching a new series in February 2020, "Heightened Senses" provided five stunning original tracks. Now continuing the series, "Vol. 2" combines three original tracks with two majestic remixes from industry high-flyers. Opening proceedings, the dark and ominous soundscapes of "All the Divinity of Life" begins a rich sonic narrative as a heavy beat and effects-laden top line form the basis for symphonic strings to filter easily in and out of range. Vocal textures from Jahsun Abrasax Masik coated in delays and reverb add a powerful aural statement. "Between White Spirits" provides a hypnotic rhythmic vehicle on which dark and ethereal synth swirls pan the stereo spectrum while a growling bassline adds gravitas. Evolving delicately, new synth patterns emerge in freeform psychedelic patterns that Pink Floyd would have been proud of. The third track sees "Pads of Heaven" ooze quality as tight kick and open/closed hi-hat combinations sit perfectly atop of a head-shaking bass pattern and sympathetic toms motif. Aptly titled, richly textured pads and subtle arpeggiated sequence add weight in the second half.

UK artist, Dan Orsen, has been a growing phenomenon with his impressive portfolio of music. A resident artist on Cid Inc.'s Replug where he also heads-up A&R duties for the blue-chip imprint, the Austrian based artist's solo and collaborative material for Replug finds him regularly traversing the upper reaches of the Beatport Progressive House charts. A quintet of remixes for Proton Music since 2016 have seen reworkings for the likes of Roger Martinez and GMJ & Matter showcase Orsen's attention to detail and immaculate craftsmanship. Now returning with a typically high-calibre interpretation of "Awake feat. Amega", Orsen's play on the distinctive bassline so prominent in the original, provides a firm foundation for a storming progressive reworking that powers forward with a glittering array of synth lines and echoes of Amega's vocal cuts. Building into the second half with ease, a powerful merger of rhythm, bass and melody supply a dancefloor character that is certain to fill clubs in the summer months of 2021.

Another artist with a long and distinguished musical history, Stas Drive has continued to push the boundaries of underground house and melodic techno with a distinctive and powerful musical vision. The spotlight has fallen on the Ukrainian's contribution to Proton Music with the "Abyssal" and "Dogu / Satori" EPs in 2018 and February 2021. A trio of remixes for Roger Martinez, Navar and Soulwerk have provided another insight into Stas Drive's musical soul as he now returns to remix "Equilibrium". Using the core melodic themes of the original as a launching pad, Stas extends the rippling arpeggios in powerful new directions with angular effects and a mesmeric sonic collage. Using a wealth of new production material that shines brightly at the breakdown in majestic melody, the second half erupts with power and dynamism to create a work that is a testament to Stas Drive's skill and ingenuity.

A trio of tracks highlight Hot TuneiK's developing talent while remixes from Orsen and Stas Drive evoke further "Heightened Senses".

Returning to Proton Music with another brand-new track, Pole Folder voyages across the "Serengeti". Remixes come from UK and Egyptian artists.

An iconic figure, Pole Folder has been at the vanguard of underground dance music for two decades after a 24-carat 2001 debut for Bedrock Records followed by 2005's "Zero Gold" album. With 300 production credits to his name and his successful Reworck imprint, the Belgian was an early fixture on the Proton Music roster with his "Protected" and "Radio 101" EPs between 2006 and 2008. A decade-long hiatus then saw "A Glimpse into the Past" released in 2018 with remixes from Retza and Funkform. Now returning, "Serengeti" is a wonderfully atmospheric offering, with its thunderstorm opening and brooding pads. Building smoothly, offbeat hats provide metronomic precision as a glissando lead meanders gracefully across the top. Effected vocal cuts add further depth alongside a grooved bassline and heavy beat as Pole Folder's inspiring production work hits the heights in the third movement to mesmerising effect.

Striving to achieve "the perfect unity" of "diversified beat, sounds, rhythms and melodies into one Fulltone", the Egyptian has more than met his stated aim with a century of production credits for the likes of Kindisch, KATERMUKKE and Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, A welcome Proton Music debutant after a remix of Lanvary's "Akyoomen" for Particles in November 2017, the Fulltone reworking of "Serengeti" is a beautifully immaculate affair that delights with its tribal percussive hits and rolling groove. Subtle atmospheric touches can be heard throughout as water trickles and wind effects sweep across the sonic landscape. Smooth keys shimmer like water droplets as Fulltone's additional production material takes the original in a new and vibrant direction, while Pole Folder's sounds resonate throughout to anchor the remix within the Belgian's overarching narrative. The result is a gloriously creative and mature new interpretation.

Successful artists with long and impressive careers in dance music, Trilucid & Phil Martyn have seen their collaborative efforts feature on the likes of Perfecto, Black Hole and Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Recordings. Regulars on Particles since 2018 with their "Gone" EP and remix of Andre Sobota's "Unmute", Trilucid & Phil Martyn have seen success on the flagship imprint with the remix of Stas Dive's "Abyssal". A Trilucid solo offering saw "Glint" released in early 2019 with remixes from Subandrio and Cream & Deep Fog, while Phil Martyn returns to aid production on the forthcoming "Astral" EP. Reworking "Serengeti", the Trilucid & Phil Martyn remix is immediately characterised by a thumping beat and hot, simmering dancefloor nature. Making clever use of Pole Folder's original components, vocal effects create a hypnotic texture, while the smooth flowing lines of the original are immaculately juxtaposed against heavier rhythmic aspects. The result is a dynamic and striking new interpretation.

Lighting up the "Serengeti" with sublime new music, Pole Folder is joined by remixes from and Fulltone Trilucid & Phil Martyn on a safari of sonic discovery.

2020 sees Ormatie returns to Proton Music after an eight-year hiatus with a brand-new original EP in the shape of "Taifun / Uragan". Remixes come from Irish and Moldovan stalwarts.

An artist who burst onto the progressive house scene in 2008 with a remix of Andy Moor & Markus Schulz for the latter's Coldharbour imprint and the three-track "Emoke" EP for Nick Warren's Hope, Ormatie rose rapidly to the highest echelons of the underground dance industry. Further work for Hope and a clutch of credits for Proton, including July 2009's "Birthdays" and September 2010's "Mon Etoile" saw continued success. Now, the Russian returns in 2020 with a new twin-track EP. "Taifun" is full of trademark intricate rhythms and immaculately programmed melodic elements. Swaying gently across the stereo spectrum, a filtered arpeggio wax and wanes, while smooth pads speed and slow with sublime synchronised LFO. Building elegantly into the third movement a bassline progression and emotive chords provide the perfect vehicle for a swathe of counterpoint melodies and searing lead line to flourish. "Uragan" opens with deep kick and fizzing percussive top-line that fills the aural senses. Before long an arpeggio works its off-kilter magic alongside muted stabs that ping-pong left and right. A glorious bassline adds weight and layers of melody paint a vibrant picture from a wonderful sonic palette.

Gavin Mulhall's Silinder alter-ego needs little introduction to those familiar with the Proton Music catalogue. Always in-demand with his flawless production work and innate talent, the Irish artist continues to carve his name into the annals of underground dance music. Since his "Corrupt" debut in September 2012, 2013's "Solas" and 2015's "Basement" have both showcased outstanding original work, while remixes for Andre Sobota, Terry Grant and Dousk has further showcased Silinder's talent. Returning after an August 2019 reworking of Imran Khan, his remix of "Taifun" is an intelligently crafted affair with its chunky rhythmic framework and innovative use of original components. In trademark fashion, a superfluity of original production material infuses Silinder's work, replete with delayed-drenched motifs and reverb-coated keys. The result is a perfect example of why his name is still held in such high regard.

Alex and Andrew have found much success with their two-headed dragon alter-ego. Through Lanvary, the duo has consistently hit the heights with their inventive musical ideas and unique sonic identity. Regulars on Particles since 2015 with the "Micromegas", "Penumbra" and "Leviathan" EPs, 2017's "Venus" and October 2019's "Everything You Feel", lit up the Proton Music catalogue with vivid original work. Adding remixes for Andre Sobota, Hot TuneiK and GMJ & Matter to their burgeoning portfolio, the Lanvary interpretation of "Taifun" is energy-driven affair that packs a punch with wonderfully grooved bassline and rhythmic backdrop. Smooth melodic flourishes that owe their origins to the Ormatie original, glitter before a new motif form the Lanvary production studio emerges in jaunty fashion alongside sympathetic pads to create a highly innovative and impressive reworking.

A powerful storm front has thrust Ormatie back into the limelight with "Taifun / Uragan" and remixes from Silinder and Lanvary.

A regular contributor to the Proton Music catalogue, Michael A continues to find himself at the forefront of underground dance music, now returning with the 4-track "Fantasy" EP.

As prolific as he is talented, Michael A has been a central figure in the progressive house scene with occasional forays into melodic techno and electronica. Since a 2012 debut for Stereofaza, the Belarusian has seen almost 900 production credits against his name for a formidable array of high-profile imprints that include Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat, Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Moreover, Michael's own Genesis Music imprint has been a vital source of music for both himself and a leading band of new and established artists. Support for a growing portfolio of releases has come from industry's leading DJs and tastemakers that include Guy J, Nick Warren, Max Graham and Cattaneo himself.

Making an early appearance on the seasonal Particles compilation series in Winter 2014, his "Behind the Moon" EP followed in March that year. Making his way on to Proton Music in 2017, the twin-track, "Bright Hope" began a very special relationship with the label that has seen a further five original offerings pepper the Proton catalogues. Indeed, "Symbol", "My Style", "Aura Tears" and "Geometria" has continued to showcase Michael A's music between 2017 and 2019, before the twin original tracks of "Twinkling Stars" shone brightly in April 2020 alongside remixes from Matter and Desaturate.

Now returning with another collection of original music, "Fantasy, Vol. 1" marks a new chapter that follows in the footsteps laid by the likes of Erdi Irmak, Rick Pier O'Neil and Hot TuneiK as a way to develop a musical narrative across a series of releases showcasing Michael's original work and remixes from other high-calibre artists. "Vol. 1" opens with a quartet of new tracks with "Slipflow" immediately displaying Michael A's penchant for driving rhythms and immaculate bass groove before richly stratified melodic layers ripple across the 8-minute piece. Shimmering arpeggios and dramatic chord constructions blend seamlessly, before the darker vibe of "Silent Moments" provides a sinister edge. Heavy with bouncing bassline groove, smooth melodies coruscate in ever-expanding patterns to a rousing mid-point crescendo of sound before dropping back into familiar groove and gradually developing melodic phrasing.

The subtle energy of "Flyaway" ripples enticingly forward atop cleverly programmed hi-hat and shaker cadence. Hitting its stride with consummate ease a glorious melodic evolution sees the track provide a moment of understated magic and delayed keys shimmer in overlapping delays over a growling and sustained bass note. The title track itself is another richly textured affair that bristles with chugging percussive groove and heavy metronomic beat. Waxing and waning throughout, subtle melodies meander delicately across the upper-mid range, redolent in reverb and delay before a subtle rise in energy in the third movement creates a platform for all elements to combine to mesmerising effect in the second half.
