Smooth, suggestive deep techno signed Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory. Out this friday on recently launched Belgian label / club night DEPTH.

For its second release, Depth gives voice to the rising Italian talent Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory who strikes again with a new amazingly crafted four-track EP.

"Nocturnal" is composed by 4 straight up rhythmical and yet subtly sophisticated compositions whose master ingredients are a compelling and percussive groove enhanced by artful waves of arpeggios and punctuated by dramatic and atmospheric breakdowns.

Opening the journey, "Revenge" features an outstanding combination of kicking afro-spirited percussions and clattering synths to create a powerful robotic and hypnotic tempo. Picking up the pace, the title track and Night Shadows both develop multiple

layers of synth chords and textures married with a catchy pulsating drum pattern and suggestive haunting vocal samples. The closing chapter driven by a whirling beat echoes the inspirational force of telluric spirits at dusk. Deep into the darkness, but without desperately sinking into its gloomy sides.

No doubt that with this last opus, Ivory singles out again with a unique and vivid display of both smart and emotional dancefloor-orientated soundscape.

For its next release, Kosa Records enlists a pair of highly perceptive Frenchmen. Residents of Bordeaux and Marseille respectively, Jack Essek and Stéphane Salerno have collaborated only once before. Their lone offering to Cafe De Anatolia birthed a truly captivating partnership! Named after an Iranian city, “Marvdasht” evokes inspiration from the duo’s extensive world travels. Middle Eastern string instruments permeate the title track's pounding beats, coarse synths and crisp percussive patterns.

Label founder ABE returns to SINNERS as he delivers his latest two-track release, ‘Eko Plate’. Launched in late 2017, bourgeoning imprint SINNERS has emerged as an outlet for quality productions across the techno sphere, welcoming a host of material across its first eight EPs from rising talents including Mark Höffen, Elska and Aalson, whilst also serving as an outlet for label boss ABE to release his own emotive productions. Having last featured on the label back in May, here we see the return of the mysterious talent as he reveals his latest two-track effort ‘Eko Plate’ to close September. Title cut ‘Eko Plate’ leads the charge as slick percussion arrangements and crisp hats go to work amongst deep, driving synth builds and sweeping bass hits, before diving into the slow-blooming, hypnotic textures of ‘Foxdie’ as eerie atmospheres and more tranquil, serene builds interchange across the production’s seven-minute duration.

Evident by his first-ever release, “Muhu,” Taavi Tuisk presents a promising new roster talent. The Estonian toes the line between driving melodic and Middle Eastern house on B-side “Seagulls.” Akin to avian acrobatics, the original mix winds through a plethora of bass stabs, creaky synths and coiling woodwinds.

Sifa is back with more brilliance on his Depth label that comes with some conceptual back stories. 

Actarus is the name of the EP and it comes from the Japanese animation Grendizer, in which Actarus (Duke Fleed) was the name of the principal character . His planet was destroyed and he found refuge on earth with a robot. This track is inspired by the episode where he loses his wife Vegalia: It is a masterfully melodic cut with deep, rolling techno drums and lush synth chords that take you on a trip. 

Cobra also comes from the Japanese animation Cobra Space Adventures, who is a space pirate traveling into space and living different adventures. The track is another majestic one with sci-fi pads and a rubbery bassline that rides up and down the scales as you glide through the galaxies.

This then is a true storytelling and evocative EP.

As one of Japan’s most prolific electronic music producers, Hideo Kobayashi specializes in soulful deep house and floor-smashing techno. Back in March, he launched his own label to push these divergent sounds. Standard Music thus serves as a model for “quality, functional and beautiful” above all else! For its next release, RIWIN takes that sentiment to a whole new level. The Balinese musician and spiritual healer once played in popular Indonesian bands called Pahama and Tropical Transit. When not riffing with the latter, he can now be found mixing electronic music. Rising from his home studio, “Bali Cloud” gushes smooth atmos, soft percussion and balearic guitar.
