Sound Avenue greets “The Days” of summer with this next release! Following a celebratory “9 Years” comp, it now reimagines the track. Bigasti and Balad first partnered up in August 2019. Two months later, their collab, “With You,” graced Nick Warren's “Balance presents The Soundgarden.” The duo continues to receive high praise with some new remixes. Appearing second in order, B.A.X. makes a welcome return to the label. His original debut, “Serenade To Earth,” was a moment of pure class. Using similarly deep sounds, the Vietnamese artist delivers another sublime production.

We welcome Jelly For The Babies and Buba to Monog Records with the superb debut Emocija EP. Both these guys have amassed extensive back catalogues over the years, garnering much respect from their peers. From a young age, JFTB was into electronic music and, since 2007, he has been honing his studio skills in the production of various genres of music. He manages three labels and boasts worldwide support. Buba is considered one of the most promising producers to come out of Montenegro. Currently he is enjoying the release of his studio album – Dreamlands, and we’ve no doubt his creativity will grab a lot of attention. We’re delighted to have both on board.

The Original Mix of Let creates a solid, driving break beat groove. Chunky beats and bright hats are joined by exotic percussions which takes us deeper into the vibe. Dark stabs and a strong, pulsating bass lead us deeper as cosmic synths add a melodic charm to the groove. The break adds serene beach ambience as the synths open up for maximum impact before the beats return for the duration. Not to be missed.

First up on the remix we have Christopher Ivor's Daydream version of Let. Christopher is no stranger to Monog having debuted here with The Dreamscape EP. Growing up with music steered him to take the DJ, producer path he is on now. Over the years his style has become very broad and eclectic and this is something we love to celebrate. Here, Christopher delivers a beautifully composed and enchanting cut with a distinct Balearic vibe that makes you long for a trip to the White Isle. Buttery smooth beats and warm basses are joined by sounds of the beach and that rich, whispered yet hair-raising vocal. Melodic arpeggios become infectious as we’re lured into the mesmeric groove. Top-notch stuff that does not disappoint.

The Original Mix of Talas is a deeper affair, with sub level basses droning on the low end. The bass produces a powerful response with emotive changes, complimenting the rising and intense strings and synths. Rhythmic percussions and a nice punchy kick force you to move while the tensions rise. The break unleashes the full force of the stacked synths, taking us to a higher plain and making this an absolute must have.

Mario Neha debuts on Monog with a wonderful remix of Talas. Switzerland based DJ, producer Mario, boasts a wide and varied catalogue of releases over the years. He runs his own imprint called Inyan Music, releasing quality cuts at every turn. Great to have him here. On the remix here, Mario adds an extra sprinkling of grunt to the groove with those plucky synth basses which are contrasted with wispy pads and scattered FX. Rich and dynamic, the track exists on a multi-layered construction moving between the light and the dark with changing emotions. Beautifully worked and deftly executed, this one is a must have.

'The latest release on Tash’s Movement Recordings finds the label showcasing the third installment of its ‘GLBLMVMT’ series. These region-specific compilations were first unveiled in 2018 with Federico Monachesi curating the progressive hotbed of Argentina. 2019 then saw Movement invite Paul Angelo & Don Argento to explore the up and coming Cyprus scene. Now travelling to India for 2020, Movement Recordings have called upon Aaryan to compile the third edition. Featured on the collection are (in order of appearance): Weird Sounding Dude, Midnight Traffic, Aaryan, Amol Reon, Jay Rei, Vridian and Future Culture. 

Long one of India’s most intriguing artists, Weird Sounding Dude leads the collection off in fine fashion. The Bangalore resident lays claim to an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on Juicebox Music, If You Wait, Kindisch, Plattenbank and Strange Town Recordings. Now landing on Tash’s Movement Recordings, Weird Sounding Dude presents the buoyant, groovy and playfully melodic ‘Twenty-One’.'

GLBLMVMT3 - Exploring India

Operating out of his Cordoba home at the base of the Sierras Chicas, Sebastian Sellares has been a consistently impressive performer with a string of high-profile releases. A 2018 debut for PHW Elements was soon followed by work for MNL, UV and August 2020's three-track "Cordoba" EP for onedotsixtwo. Inspired by the likes of Depeche Mode and Daft Punk, his music has received support from a raft of high-rollers that include Cid Inc., Aly & Fila, and fellow countryman, Hernan Cattaneo. A Proton Music debut remixing Hot TuneiK's "Circles of You" in June 2019 is now followed by a twin-track debut that opens with the sparkling "Jinsei". Redolent in dynamic percussive rhythms, a similarly cadenced synth line and syncopated bassline provide additional groove before an earworm motif reveals itself. Waxing and waning over the 11-minute magnum opus, counterpoint string phrasing adds subtlety and guile. The rhythmic prowess of "Zen State" is immediately apparent as a sumptuous bassline supplies depth with its gated pattern. Before long, a richly delayed synth line makes an appearance that repeats pre and post-breakdown while an additional free-flowing synth and smooth pad captures a joyous mood.

Nick Muir needs no introduction to the underground dance cognoscenti. Part of the Bedrock duo alongside John Digweed, renowned for such iconic hits as 1999's "Heaven Scent" and 2002's "Emerald", the UK DJ and producer has gone on to become a regular on the label of the same name with over a double century of credits under his own name, often in collaboration with the label head-honcho, Digweed. Regular global DJ performances testify to a loyal following as live streams during 2020's coronavirus lockdown continued to see Muir spearhead a new approach to life behind the decks. Making his Proton Music debut, the Nick Muir remix of "Jinsei" captures the essence of the original with its immediately recognisable central motif and multiple layers of additional production that propel the track forward with power and intensity. A huge bassline groove and shimmering arpeggio create a progressive house gem that sparkles through intermittent vocal phrases, rapid-fire hats and chest-thumping kick. The result is a track that builds to epic proportions with the arrival of a new string section in the latter stages.

An Argentinean artist of considerable repute, Matias Chilano has been at the vanguard of the progressive house movement for over a decade with his instantly recognisable deep and textured sound palette. Able to point to almost 400 production credits to back up his undoubted talent and credentials, early work for LuPS Records has subsequently seen a raft of remix and original work signed to the likes of Global Underground, Balkan Connection and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. A pair of remixes for Proton Music represent Chilano's contribution to the label thus far as a third now lights up "Zen State" with a gloriously evocative offering full of trademark atmosphere, white-noise effects and sumptuous synth lines. A mesmerising percussive line provides dance-floor character as a smooth bassline progression turns Sellares' original track into a thing of beauty. A collage of pulsating synth lines add further club-friendly dynamism in a remix that illustrates the Argentinean's talent and technique.

Ezequiel Arias returns to the label with his signature smooth style.

Arias has packed a lot into his years. Since breaking onto the scene in 2013 he’s now signed music to a cross section of melodic labels from Replug to Anjunadeep. Enjoying months of chart action with his debut for Sudbeat, we welcome Ezequiel back for the ‘Amnesia EP’.

Opening with ‘Amnesia’, melodics slowly reveal themselves against a sparse percussive groove. Becoming more expansive over time, the sonics take on a story-telling dynamic, ebbing and flowing throughout. Starting innocently, ‘Images of Time’ is a subtle groove that lingers with intent. The main break offers the big reveal and the track springs into life. Finally, ‘Paradies’ opens with dream-like atmospheres which come to an epic conclusion in the break. Mind music par excellence!
