For our next edition of the Intercept mix series, we have invited long standing Onepuf & Sooki Saturday’s resident DJ - Wardrop 

We’ve known Justin Wardrop for many years now as we’ve shared the late night stage at Sooki Saturdays with him, continually impressed by the selections this guy provides. Justin’s induction into the world of electronic music started around 2013 when he wore the alias ‘Realtek’, djing and producing his flavour of dubstep. His Realtek project saw his productions aired on the likes of Rinse FM and releases on labels such as Onepuf & Detrimental Audio.

Justin has now been involved with the Onepuf crew for about 6 years and Sooki Lounge for a similar term, and over his stint as a DJ he has been booked at a number of fine establishments such as Lounge, The Mercat, Revolver Upstairs, Bloom & many more. This mix is an insight into the quirky library of our good friend Wardrop, and includes a number of his original releases as well as some unreleased material from himself and other local producers.

Intercept #18 - Wardrop

Meet Mihow: a Polish born, Australien raised sonic alchemist whose journey has spanned the vibrant cities of Melbourne, Amsterdam, and Kuala Lumpur. He has refined a unique taste for down-tempo psychedelic grooves, enriched with cross-cultural, mystical, and esoteric elements. Mihow carefully fuses ancient and modern sounds, crafting an auditory experience that pulses with tribal rhythms, syncopated beats, gnarly bass lines, and glitchy, organic soundscapes.

He honed his skills as a DJ in the bustling nightlife scenes of Kuala Lumpur and Saigon, captivating audiences at renowned venues such as Ren @ Club Kyo, Jiro, Elysium, Pisco Bar, Vitamin D at Bromar, and Arcan. Mihow's return to Melbourne in late 2019 marked a new chapter in his artistic evolution as he delved deeper into music production and began organising events and doofs, with notable performances at Nevedya and Section 8 before entering fatherhood in 2023. In late 2024 he launched Solve et Coagula Events, bringing a blend of dark oriented Psy, Techno and Chill/Groove music events to Melbourne.

Driven by a deep desire to facilitate the ancient ritual of connection and dance in a post-modern world, Mihow's sets are more than just music—they're a humble yet powerful contribution to elevating collective consciousness.

I'm Jack, a producer from Melbourne, Australia.
I've been making all kinds of tunes in my bedroom for getting close to a decade now.
I'd like to say i'm genre-less but for the most part i've been releasing on psychedelic techno/bush prog labels.
I’m very thankful I chose the path of production, being able to express parts of my life through an audible format has not only been a wonderful therapeutic process but highly enriching for my experience in life.
I care very deeply for authenticity within the creative arts and strive to be heard in such a way, this music is ultimately for me.
I hope to one day share with the world an album of all the secret expressions I've got hidden away, there's so much soul there but i am not ready just yet.
