‘I’, and I put ‘I’ in inverted commas because this mix goes way beyond me; but oh my goodness - it captures something so special.

This mix will forever remind me of the crew I've had the pleasure of meeting on Guy J's online community. Many of the artists featured on this mix are part of it, and there are many more who, although not on this mix, are mainstays in my music collection, not to mention the up-and-comers and hobby producers who also inspire me with their creations.

During the lockdowns, Guy created something really special, and to be a part of it has been a huge blessing to us all. We've shared in each other’s joys and sorrows. Many have now met up and are forging real life friendships. We've debated hot topics, daring to venture into territory that makes us feel uncomfortable and stretches us, but done in the spirit that we've all come to know and love about Guy: humble, compassionate but determined not let the mistakes of the past prevent humanity from being all we can be.

Thank you, Guy J, and thank you to all the kindred spirits I've met through you. This mix will always remind me of you. Through the bonds of music, we are forever joined!

D-phrag is the musical alias of Ivan from Bulgaria. 
His musical career started in his late 30’s but his affection for music dates back to his teenage years. The interest with electronic music has been ignited by early works of Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre, but the true discovery of the dance music camera with trance - artists like Armin and Ferry Corsten. 
Later this interest for the melodic side of dance music but with more creative and original sound led to his affection for progressive house of the early 2000’s - the music played by Sasha & Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Nick Warren, Deep Dish & Dave Seaman. 

He recorded his first set on a computer with software around 2002, then things developed quickly around 2005 he was invited for a residency at the prestigious Frisky Radio - to which he held for more than 14 years. He also collaborated with some talented musicians for original production - namely Napalm from Hungary, Toppy from Bulgaria and Valentin Mavron - also from Bulgaria. Their releases have been featured on many respected labels but probably the biggest to note is the remix they licensed in 2018 to Digweed’s Bedrock Records for his Ground Under Live In Tokyo compilation. 

Recently he has been hosting some day parties with his good friends in his hometown of Plovdiv - trying to still push the boundaries of contemporary electronic music.

We are delighted to have over Marijan Raskovic who goes by the moniker 'Jelly for The Babies', for the forty-eighth edition of 'Deep In Mix' series. Marijan is currently based out of a small town called Aranđelovac, Serbia and is the head A&R of the labels - One Of A Kind, RYNTH & The Purr. Crafted in 2007, the Jelly For The Babies project focuses mostly on deep, mystical and melodic sounds.

Marijan's passion for music extends beyond his own productions, as seen in the creation of his publishing house, The Purr. The Purr was established with the aim of connecting talented performers from all around the world, both established and emerging. The label aims to follow the current trends in the music scene while also maintaining the dignity that has become synonymous with its brand. Marijan's love for progressive house music led him to establish One of a Kind and he also established RYNTH, which was initially based on downtempo music, but as the deep house sound evolved, it became more closely aligned with downtempo electronica. His commitment to organic sound has been a driving force in the evolution of his music and the labels he has created.

Marijan's musical influences range from Punk Rock to hip-hop to electronic music. However, it is the Prodigy who has influenced him the most. Their unique blend of electronic music with guitars, jungle rhythm, punk core, and other elements inspired Marijan to create something truly unique in his own music. His other influences include Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Karl Jenkins, and Enigma. He loves meeting new people, learning new things, and travelling to new places, which he believes helps him to grow as a person and as an artist.

He has gained massive support from artists like Mendo, H.O.S.H., Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Atish, Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn, Mark Knight, Oliver Schories, Darin Epsilon, to name a few. From time to time his music has become slower and deeper. “As we grow old, the bpm goes down”, he quotes. Marijan hopes that the listeners will enjoy this mix as much as he did while recording it.

Bio Anglais:
Casnik (Nicolás Castillo) is a young Argentine DJ, originally from City Bell, La Plata. Since he was a child he felt music in a special way. He began to experience everything he felt inside through movement, taking dance classes and going through various musical genres to learn the essence of each one and understand the different states of mind. At the beginning of 2018 he began his career in the dj world, setting himself the premise of transmitting what music provokes in his senses and generating in the public that magical connection with the melodies he selects. During 2019, he has shared the booth at events with top-level national artists such as Elio Riso, MatiasSundblad, LeFrak, Bodeler, Jay de Lys, Cordoba, Super, among others.  In 2020 is where he began to connect with new genres such as Progressive House and Melodic House, whose sounds have led him to venture into more emotional and deep melodies to continue perfecting himself. In 2021, he moved to Tulum, where he began to open new horizons and continue to fulfill his goals, playing in clubs in Playa del Carmen, Holbox and Tulum; where he had the pleasure of being part of the line up with international DJs such as the Pan Pot duo, Roy Rosenfeld, Marcel Dettman, Armen Miran, Gux Gimenez among others.
