After The Rain

This one is really close to my heart. It’s one of the first songs I ever wrote and it resonated with my soul so much. I wrote it after my first winter in London, cold and grim yet hauntingly beautiful too. It’s about pining for the ocean, for home, those blue misty frequencies I feel when I’m in New Zealand on the coastline..where everything always comes back to. Where it all starts and all ends.

Behold! The monstrous dawn
Of genetically modified reasons to stay home at night;
Would you like a blue-eyed baby with your large fries?

An impressionable Queen
Sent a telegram to me it read, “The Jargon Buster’s lost his head! 
And he left breadcrumbs in my king-size bed.”

And when you turn the page, there’s an illustration
Of Lord Climate Change VIII
Wearing a cape of insulation foam,
And he’s on the phone
To the incompetent, incontinent, impotent Bag of Bones
Who used to sit atop the throne.

Frankenstein, I love you! But you’re not making it easy for me,
Imprisoned in your Chinese mausoleum.
Meanwhile, I’m going out of my mind, killing time
Watching boxes full of videos of Mr Blobby doing the Orthodox Tango alone
In the loudest silent disco that I’ve ever known.
And the crooked Airline Chief with his wonky teeth says,
“Butter me up, babe, I wanna be in the movies!”
And screams “Me too!” as Shakespeare steals young men’s virility.
And the Drug Mule has come in from the cold, 
Her old flame has solved her winter woes,
And decks the halls with plastic unicorns and taxidermied flamingos.

Sobs Snow White as she cries into her glass of wine
And wildly swipes right.
And she's booked a budget flight
To Zante.

PRYNNE is a New Zealand raised artist who’s music carves an intriguing path
between dreamy atmospherics, lyrical finesse and beat driven electronics.
Having lived in London making music for four years now - her barefooted, wild, ocean roots have helped her to stay true to herself creatively. Her music comes from a yearning to share those tender, electric moments with her listeners and allow them
to form their own meaningful connection to the music.
Her debut single ‘apology to an ex lover’ is an unfiltered ode to a past relationship.
The song’s allure comes from its honesty and soothing sincerity. A raw vocal
presence and melodic hooks are tied together with natural yet electronically vibeysonics.
