LORDRU (pronounced Lore-druu) started out writing lyrics as a solo artist in 1997, started making beats around 1999, and helped form the MISINFORMANTS around late 2003. Doing most of their recording in the basement of Mobil's moms house in Ferndale Michigan (a suburb on the Northern border of Detroit), that became known as "Tha Traila Park". MISINFORMANTS (Lordru, Ali-Ra, Mobil, Gator) released a mixtape of freestlyes called "What Is The Name Of Today's Show?" In 2003 (that included features from Dialtone, Crimsonpaws, Omis, Intricate Dialect, Fahrenheit Temperature 2040, Tenshin, and more); an independent full length CD titled "Sundays" in 2004 (features from Skrapz, Dialtone, Intricate Dialect, Crimsonpaws & Tenshin, and Production by Skrapz, Dialtone and Tenshin); and a full Length Album called "Misinformed' in 2005 (Featured production by Skrapz, Dial81, Trainwreck, Fahrenheit Temperature 2040, more). LORDRU was also one of the 10 founding members of the short lived "Genetic Soil LLC". A record label that released 1000 copies of Skrapz "The 12 Step Program" . It was a double CD that included a Genetic Soil Label Sampler CD (featuring Skrapz, Dial.81, Formless Figures, Misinformants, Empty Mirrors, ElephantHorse, Cosmic Handshakes, and Polynote). Misinformants also repressed another 100 copies of "Misinformed" independently under the Genetic Soil name.

MISINFORMANTS were well into the recording of the unreleased "Process of Elimination LP" when the group parted ways... LORDRU and GATOR of Misinformants also have a side group called "Empty Mirrors" that recorded a self titled EP (which features production almost entirely by Mobil), but remains unreleased. Lordru was also in a group called "The 37th Shield" with Crimsonpaws, which recorded an unreleased EP. He continued to do solo music, and work on his Debut release "Night Lights for Dark Days", which also remains unfinished/unreleased...

After years of recording and doing local shows, Lordru and Mobil started a private venue space called "Division Gallery" which has become a destination spot to see great National and local underground shows in Detroit. Dru took on more of a roll as a venue/record store manager, show promoter, booking agent, and curator for many events in the Metro Detroit area.

Lordru and A.Biggs of USM (United States of Mind) started a Monthly Producer and DJ showcase called HEAD NOD SUITE that is about to celebrate it's 4 Year Anniversary in June 2016!!!! The event has become a catalyst for the rapidly growing Detroit Produce/DJ oriented beat scene. Lordru has played a roll in makeing it more tangible, and helping unite the scene as a whole, starting a successful group page on facebook called "Detroit Beat Culture"...

Lordru recently opened a record/comic shop called "The 37th Shield Library" in the heart of Detroit's historical eastern Market, which prides itself in its selection of Detroit and native Michigan Hip Hop, and a growing selection of Vinyl, comics, movies, art, action figures, etc. He independently repressed 100 copies of Misinformants "Misinformed" CD, in celebration of its 10 year Anniversary in June 2015. Misinformants were able to reunite for the first time in over 8 years to celebrate the Anniversary, their accomplishments, trials and tribulations. Maybe this is the start of a new chapter... Lordru hopes to be back in the studio and make some new music. No promises or expectations... For now he seems content just being a dedicated representative of the Detroit Hip Hop and underground music community, and helping his musical peers reach the national and Worldwide platform that many of them deserve, and building his record store business

By Light We Loom, a husband and wife indie-pop duo out of Cleveland, Ohio, combines creative beats, vintage synths, soaring vocals, and intimate harmonies with story-folk songwriting sensibilities to deliver high-energy performances that promise to move your heart and feet in equal measures.

Since it’s origin in late 2014, By Light We Loom has toured heavily with highlight stops at MidPoint Music Festival, Brite Winter Festival, NEO Cycle Music Festival, The Heights Music Hop, and opening for notable indie acts: The Paper Kites, Car Seat Headrest, Maps & Atlases, Telekinesis, Lucy Dakus,  Sondre Lerche, Deep Sea Diver, The Mynabirds, Twin Forks, The Kin, Kopecky, Radiation City, Matt Pond PA, Frontier Ruckus, and more.

By Light We Loom released their debut EP, “The Ignition,” in May of 2015 to critical acclaim and local radio play.  Maturing their sound through live performances, they quickly released a more realized EP, “Caught in the Tide,” in January of 2016. “Caught in the Tide”  which landed in the Top 100 of the College Radio Charts and resulted in By Light We Loom being named Cleveland Magazine’s “Best Indie Rock Artist of 2016”. Songs from “Caught in the Tide” were also featured in episodes of PBS’s “Roadtrip Nation” in 2017 and 2018.  By Light We Loom followed up this success with the 2018 release of "Canopy," two songs featured on the film "Enormity of Life."  By Light We Loom has just released their new single "Fire & Smoke" in January 2024.

Wistful nostalgia, of the vein innate to many millennials, is the mood pervading from Detroit’s resident alt-R&B crooner James Linck. The singer's plaintive falsetto has become the subject of conversation in many Detroit music circles.

Incorporating a fluid mix of lush orchestration and rigid scratches and rhythms, turntablist and sample-based composer p.stoops blends decades of recorded music together into a strange yet consonant world. Beyond the record scratches, drum machines, and field recordings, p.stoops works within a strict focus of harmony and form.

With a background in classical piano and both folk and concert composition, he utilizes this upbringing to its fullest with obsessive precision and perfectionism. Pulling inspiration (and direct samples) from a library of musical influences and styles, his music reads less as a simple mash-up and more as an alternate version of music history.

The beginning of his sample-based compositions started with his 2014 EP, object permanence.  Part early hip-hop mixtape, part exotica record, he diverged from rhythmic and melodic expectations throughout the album.  

The sampling process of object permanence awoke his inner ethnomusicologist and led to his next project, Ancient Computers.  Taking the next two years to complete his first full-length album, p.stoops poured in countless more samples, musical form changes, and production techniques to build an ethnomusicological study for an imaginary post-civilization world.

Throughout the recording of Ancient Computers, p.stoops expanded the scope of his live performances.  Experimenting with turntablism and live electronics for meditative drawing events and creating an engaging turntablism set, performing tracks off of the two albums.  His sets blends electronic composition with humor, beats, and scratching.  He has shared the stage with acts like RJD2, Badbadnotgood, Blockhead, Open Mike Eagle, Serengeti, Astronautalis, Yoni Wolf, !!!, STRFKR, and JR JR.

Ancient Computers was released May 5th, 2017 on Teenage Riot Records.

Evan G. aka Satta Don Dada's prowess as a DJ was recognized early on by his peers & later reaffirmed by Skrillex hand picking him to open for his 2014 Mothership Tour. His name as a producer started to gain exposure in 2012, when won the legendary Dubstep/Grime artist Cotti’s “Goin’ To War’ remix competition. Since then he’s been local support for such acts as The Wailers, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, DJ Premier, RJD2, AK1200, Keys N Krates, Black Milk, Araabmuzik, DJ Swamp, Kamasi Washington, DJ Assualt & among many others. He’s also been featured in world renowned media outlets like Mixmag, XLR8R, Fact Mag, Boiler Room, Magnetic Mag, & other noteworthy publications online.
