Dovetail: blending tough and soaring beats

Portsmouth based electronic music artist and researcher Sam, took her life-long love of electronic dance music to the next level when she taught herself to DJ. She's now taken her first steps into production, with her first EP hitting the No.1 spot on the Beatport Top 100 Breaks Releases chart in Dec 2020! A champion of small labels, self producers, and minority gender artists, behind the decks she's known for her infectious energy, drive and sense of fun, and spinning genre-spanning tunes - if it makes her heart soar, her hips shake, or her face bass, it's in! And her productions look set to continue in the same vein.

Off the decks, she's the brains behind research project and radio show 'In the Key of She' (SISU Presents, now on Threads Radio) investigating how it is for women carving a space for themselves in the male-dominated underground techno and tech-house scenes. This project, looks at the life and careers of female producers in underground electronic music scenes and epitomises the bringing together of music and curiosity that is Dovetail.

Basilisk is a veteran multi-genre DJ, co-founder of the psychedelic techno label @Techgnosis-Records alongside @benramamusic, founder of the iconic @Ektoplazm free music portal and label group (including Ektoplazm, Drumlore, and Omnitropic), lossless audio enthusiast, and dedicated archivist and electronic music curator. Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada, he is now based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Psytrance, techno, electro, house, trance, acid, breaks, bass, IDM, ambient—you name it, I probably spin it. My mixes fluidly combine different genres into harmonic journeys that defy convention. I encourage you to browse around and get lost in some of the many sonic microcosms I have meticulously curated over the years. Nearly all mixes posted here are available for download on my homepage.

aka - Sebastian Memmott is a multi talented, multi genre act. His sound varies from groovy tech-trance and psychedelic techno vibes to pumping d'n'b and psy breaks, his sound is phat and truly varied.
Seb has been involved in the music industry since he was a boy, In 1999 (age 16) he studied music technology, with synthases and sound design. Since then he's worked under many different names & styles, developing his skills and techniques along the way.
Sebliminal is Sebastian's latest entry to the world. With heavy influences from Infected Mushroom, Eat static, Leftfield, The Chemical brothers, through to Hallucinogen, Raja Ram, Rinkadink, Ben Coda and Nonoplex (not to mention what's got through subliminally)
