I picked out music since '05 until now and wanted to stay within the modern Forest Trance sound. The first half of the mix is pure night time music that will hopefully get you ready to dive into the twilight/morning part, when the sun comes up, and the music becomes more floating and subtle. And for anyone who makes it to the end, there is a nice melodic surprise! ;)

Im proud and happy to share with You this mix i played live on Apsara festival few months ago, set was scheduled at saturday morning from 06:30, after Leo Bergman (Spindrift) dj set and before Hypnoxock, i had a great time that whole night on the floor aswel so this experience with playing early morning set after such night (and before that killer weekend huuh ) what to say .... Dj Stev0 - Para Apsara (live @ Apsara Fest) 2023

This fully improvised storyline follows a lone psychonaut on a journey of personal discovery through music into the cosmos and alternate dimensions beyond, then whiplashing back to our Earthly firmament after realizations that astound the psyche and broaden the horizons of his unwitting mind.

It was an unexpected blessing to have been trusted with an extra hour for my Goa Guardians set, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share an unhindered journey through some of my favourite Tunes from the 90s and early 2000s, including some secret weapons.

I am keeping the tracklist unpublished to preserve the unreleased music for the dance floor experience. I hope you enjoy dancing along, and for some—reliving the wonderful experience we shared that night.

Once upon a time, I was invited to play at Waking Life, a well-known techno festival in Portugal. The organizers had envisioned a special old school sunrise set—one where trance, goa, and progressive sounds would gently flow together like a warm, comforting blanket while the first rays of sunshine make people smile. :)
Although the booking didn’t end up happening, I still created the set, and I’d love to share it with the world. It’s a bit slower, warmer, and deeper than my usual high-energy goa-trance... So expect something a little different, but realise this music is also 100% from the heart! :)

This was my first set in Tokyo upon moving back in early 1998. I was playing off DATs (digital audio tapes) and hadn't played for a couple of months (the previous set was the Vancouver Art Gallery performance, some film footage of which is on my YouTube channel). I'd received a lot of new music and had only one practice session at a friend's house before the gig. I was really nervous but soon got into the flow and the atmosphere in the room was fantastic. I opted for longer mixes with a focus on the long melodic line, as was often the case with Goa music of the time - and in fact that's how it was composed and meant to be played, according to a number of producers who told me as much.

The set started at around 3am and went until about 5:30. I had intended to start with Beast's 'Spawn', which was still unreleased but a promo of which I'd been sent by Twisted, but the CD player hadn't been hooked up to the mixer, so my ambient intro (the Astralasia track with which I started the 'Future Was Now' mix which is also on my Soundcloud) went on a little longer than expected while I looked for a DAT to mix into it - and that ended up being 'Maia' by the Pleiadians. I only remembered that I'd intended to record my set part-way through the second track, Eco's 'UFOlk', which is where this recording picks up. The set then took a very different direction than expected ... but went exactly where it needed to go.

One of the reasons I love this set so much is that the process I was going through as a DJ - the in-the-moment spontaneity, the emotion, the exploration - really comes through in the performance. This was a time when 'preparing' a set was not done - it was more or less assumed that you would be playing off-the-cuff, perhaps with a sense of where you'd go but not fully, and that in-the-now-ness creativity is some of what 'primed' the music to electrify the dancefloor. As much as I actually had a hard time while I was playing this set and wasn't sure how successful it was, when I listened to the recording I liked what was there... How much of life is like that, where we appreciate things more afterwards instead of in the moment - despite the moments being filled with what we actually wanted? Interestingly, I found that the same synchronicity that characterized my experience behind the decks will start to show up in the room when I play this recording now ... so if I'm ever looking to break through a creative block or experience some cosmic synchronicity, this is a recording that I line up to help me move through it, just as I did back then.

Finally some set that doesnt need much description as it had back then (2010) when it was made by purpose of promotion to enter a goa label i wanted to play 4 ... didnt pass .... very interesting information i can say is that 10 years later i wanted to use it for similar purpose, not exactly label chasing but ...  weeel nevermind that :) 

also want to notice that its first remastered old set from my young and most quality dj mixing period exactly one decade ago .... im more then happy with this new outfit ... hopefully you are too .... download option is on (beware, its 24 bit wav (mabey 16 cant remember :P = )

Hello, welcome to my Soundcloud!

I'm a Belgian DJ active in our Goa scene.  You can pick any set here as a template for what you want at your party. And I will adjust to the lineup. I'm a label DJ at Cronomi and Schlabbaduerst and can play older tracks by these artists and tracks that are in the pipeline for future releases. 

I usually play:
- Night time oldschool Goa, blended together with some obscure '97 - '04 Psytrance, Schlabbaduerst-style tracks and modern releases. And I like to play trippy melodic music in the morning too. :)
- Modern Forest Trance. Mossy storytellers (Sanaton / Yggdrasil style) or abstract & surgical tracks (Sonic Loom / Parvati style)

I also love to to play darkish, spiralling and seriously psychedelic Suomisaundi / Psy-Harmonics / experimental sets. And going from one genre to the other is what I love to do the most. :)
