On 11 August, Matt Walsh drops The Clouded Vision Experiment – Level 2, a mixed compilation which showcases the label’s outlook. The compilation will be released on triple vinyl with an included CD and features tracks from the likes of Richard Norris,  Dimitri Veimar, Demian, Eskimo Twins, Markus Gibb, Few Nolder, Kiwi, Club Bizarre and many more. We’ve got the first listen of our favourite track on the compilation – The Hacker’s The Outer Limits. Its unashamedly Drexcyia-influenced, wave-running nature harks back to the golden days of electro (real electro) while remaining up-to-date in every other aspect, and that’s definitely something we can get into. Released today via Canadian label Monique Musique, the Helix EP offers up a double helping of electronic artistry. Teaming up for the title track, Deas and 2PM deliver a driving techno cut full of grit and menace. On the flip Deas takes the production solo with 'Stain Sound', where we find deep vocals and grooving percussion, perfect for warming up any dance floor.

Having originally released Tony Rohr’s Oddlantik Avenue album back in February, Cari Lekebusch’s H-Productions have done what they do best and clubbed together between their tight roster of like-minded artists to come up with a eye-widening selection of reworks for this remixes EP. 

Left to their own devises to pick what tracks to remix, the individuals’ own tastes came to the fore. The Advent unsurprising opted for the twisted techno killer ‘Eden Acid’ while Cari Lekebusch jumped at reworking the crazily tripped out ‘RZ-Fun’. Alexi Delano’s low-slung mix of ‘Nightdrive’ is beautifully melancholic and Jesper Dahlback made Oddrangement into a disorientating soup of deeply intense moods and fizzing percussion. 

Coming off the back of a series of collaboration EP’s between Cari Lekebusch and his fellow H-Production artists, this EP, containing remixes by the main protagonists of the labels output so far this year and Lekebusch himself adds further legitimacy to the “Hybrid” concept that has been unveiled throughout 2010 via the labels releases and club events. 

Providing the opportunity and environment for artists to create natural symbiosis by sharing and combining their varied elements and attributes is central to the ethos set out by Lekebusch. An ethos that has been adapted enthusiastically by those artists handpicked to join the veteran Swede on his latest explorative journey into techno sound architecture.

Brazilian-born Joyce Muniz immersed herself in the world of electronic music after moving to Austria at the age of 12. By the age of 16, she purchased her first 1212s and became one of Vienna’s youngest DJs. When the raw and pulsating sounds of Brazilian dance music baile funk infiltrated European house and techno, Muniz connected with her origins by providing vocals for Viennese producer Stereotyp. Solidifying her stance as a multitalented artist and MC, Muniz satisfied her craving to produce by diving deep into house music, carving out her own niche through a smooth-yet-funky sound often complimented by sultry vocals and thumping basslines. 

’An early coup for Exploited was 2011's 'Morning Love', Muniz's collaboration with Louie Austen. An old school Viennese crooner who'd worked alongside the rat pack in Las Vegas, he'd risen to prominence again after the turn of the millennium, alongside the likes of Peaches and Gonzalez, on the crest of electroclash. With his lived-in vocals riding a spacey house groove punctuated by snippets of breakbeats, Austen was so impressed with Muniz that he asked her to produce his next album.

This mutual respect was to arise again in the shape of Maya Jane Coles, who helped get Muniz's music into the hands of 20:20 Vision, so far resulting in two Eps. Then Richie Hawtin got hold of an unreleased track and played it on his Ibiza Boiler Room. “I really was wondering how Richie Hawtin got it!” Joyce said. Still, got it he had, leaving just the clearance of its Kraftwerk sample from 'It's More Fun to Compute' and the addition of a vocal by ex-Jungle Brother Bam, for the modern day hip-house of 'Back in the Days' to become a hit for Exploited last year.’ (DJMag) Not to forget her collaboration track ’Warriors’ with Bpitch longstay Kiki or her recent remix of Traffic Signs aka Steve Bug and Jake the Rapper’s ’Cookie Jar’.

Her next release ’You Always Get Me High’ will drop on Exploited in May.
