PETRU

The Corsican techno artist and producer PETRU is a creative, charismatic and energetic Live performer.

From the Kolibri Space Shuttle he observes and cruises through constellations that he translates into sonic experiences.

His passion for storytelling drives him to experiment with various sub-genres of techno developed through NSTNKT, Kolibri, Grounded and Tribute series.

PETRU’s music is oscillating between hypnotic and dark beats, melodic and beautiful journeys, from impactful techno rollers to experimental soundscapes – occasionally paying homage to his major sources of inspiration.

PREMIERE - PETRU - Chihirotraktor (Acid Mix)

Following the success of their debut album, 'Eros Anikate', Berlin-based DJ and Producer couple Local Suicide (@localsuicide) return with the first of four remix EPs for their release, each named after an ancient Greek god.

'Eros Anikate - Adonis Remixes' is a 5-track EP featuring two remixes for 'High Buildings w/ Lee Stevens', one for 'Whispering w/Curses', and two remixes for 'Hercules Adonis'. The EP will be released on digital and vinyl formats via their Iptamenos Discos (@iptamenosdiscos) imprint on September 16th, 2022.

The second remix for 'High Buildings' comes from Berlin's own Jennifer Touch (@jennifertouch), who adds arpeggiated acid-like synth sequences and warped vocals for an energetic and driving edit. Touch is known for her unique combination of vintage synths, industrial soundscapes and visceral post-punk snarl. Her music is heavily influenced by her memories and observations of the social climate during her upbringing in East Germany, filtered through a young and naïve mind. After the wall came down, her musical tastes expanded beyond 80s pop, and she embraced the bleak and rough techno of Berlin's burgeoning underground, forming the post-wave, cold-pop acid sound she is known for today.

apaull, a dutch-canadian electronic music producer, has released the mushMouth EP. It is produced by Abe Duque and is on the furnace room records label.
Following up on his debut 4Sol EP apaull’s mushMouth EP asks the question: “Do the talking heads we see day after day, on whatever media, actually have anything to say?” with the follow-up question: “Do we actually need to listen?”
We live in a world of convoluted and tilted media filters where unseen arbiters and algorithms determine what is and is not heard, and importantly how it gets heard. If the speaker conforms to a constantly narrowing worldview cul de sac it is presented in an uncritical if not glowing way. If this favored speaker somehow crosses the ordained worldview they are met with the most soap soft mild rebuke and off they go. Otherwise, speakers are vilified, excoriated, and dismissed; and if the mob gets their chance cancelled.
mushMouth is mostly a slow jam and groove that you can dance to or not. On a deeper level it is about one person making an (stupid and egregious) assumption about another group but somehow coming away from it unscathed.
mushMouth (Abe Duque remix) is the New York based legendary techno producer’s take on this track. It has been radically transformed, whilst keeping the essential musical elements, into a very danceable house track. It poses a separate set of questions in a most magnanimous way and dares you to join the ‘basket of cheers’. Expect to hear this remix at a dancefloor near you very soon. Prost.
mushMouth (Thesis Sahib remix) Thesis Sahib is a London, Ontario, Canada based avant-garde hip hop artist. He explores mushMouth through a lofi hip hop groove. The question is the same, but you might feel like reaching for a joint while you come up with the answer.
The cover art is by famed Brooklyn based artist Al Diaz (bio below). He was selected because of his unique art and as an ode to counterculture and what should be its confluence with art. “Al Díaz‘s career spans five decades. At 15 he was the recognized subway graffiti artist known as „BOMB-ONE.“ His friendship and collaboration with schoolmate Jean-Michel Basquiat on SAMO®... (an Avant-garde graffiti project), and the iconic hip-hop record, „Beat Bop“ are noted in contemporary art history. His mixed media work is shown and collected internationally.

As a veritable poet at heart, the physicist turned music and film producer creates raw emotion through his melodies and lyrics inspired by his endless exploration of the world around him. The birth of his son marks his newest source of inspiration as he embarks upon the adventure of parenthood. 
The 6-track EP is a heartfelt and dreamy experience that features four original tracks with synth-pop, post-disco and progressive electronica elements, and two remixes for 'Oettam is Born' from Arnaud Rebotini and Íñigo Vontier. 
The bouncy electronica title track opens the EP with groovy drums, warm synth pads and a plucked bass line, while washed-out synth leads and airy effects give a cosmic ambience and a nostalgic feel. 'Flashback' is a dark and propulsive tune with rapid arpeggiated synth sequences layered with plucked bass and guitar. The energy increases with the dramatic guitars, noisy, industrial leads and driving drums on 'So Sprach Psychedelia' that reach an epic cinematic climax. The final track, 'Oettam is Born', is a softer, melodic piece with warm pads and chords, uplifting melodies and dewy leads. It is a celebration of Pyrame's profound experience as his son was born that inspires feelings of hope and joy. 
The first remix of 'Oettam is Born' comes from the legendary French artist Arnaud Rebotini, who strips the track of its plucked arpeggiators and bass lines and replaces them with chord pads and synth bass. Arnaud is one of the most emblematic figures in electronic music today having remixed songs for the likes of Depeche Mode, Rammstein, The Rapture, and Bloc Party. He was a member of the iconic electroclash band Black Strobe formed in Paris in 1997 and is a synth master known for his breathtaking live performances surrounded by his synthesisers. His ability to straddle genres and bring them together has allowed him to develop an avant-garde yet timeless sound, earning him the position of a central figure in the new international techno scene.
The second remix comes from Iñigo Vontier, an acclaimed contemporary DJ and Producer from Guadalajara, México, known for his mix of rough beats and cosmic sounds. Iñigo has been climbing in the international scene in recent years with support from artists like Solomun, Dixon, Chloe, Tiga, Maceo Plex, and Ame. He started his own label, Calypso Records, in 2017 with Thomass Jackson to promote other Latin American artists and earn them greater visibility. His remix of 'Oettam is Born' is a groovy cut with reverb-heavy hats, bouncy synths and layered children's voice effects that give a joyful and playful touch.
Pyrame will release his EP on October 7th via his label, Thisbe Recordings, inspired by Greek Mythology for a touch of surrealism, heritage and fantasy.

The Greek DJ and producer duo had been friends for over a decade and spent endless hours on the decks together DJing around Greece and Europe before deciding to form their project and share their love for electronic music. Their music is a blend of everything they mix in their DJ sets, from disco to breaks, slow techno to acid, with the sole aim of making people dance. Having previously released their hit ‘New Era’ EP via the Iptamenos Discos imprint, the duo return for their remix of 'Eros Anikate feat.
