When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Today we concentrate on his more melodic alias and under the name Floorplan, Hood has released a stunning album showcasing a slightly different yet equally strong sound.

A new EP is set to drop featuring two re-edits of tracks that appeared on his Floorplan album 'Paradise'. 'Phobia' and 'Never Grow Old' have been given a special Re-Plant and we have the premiere of the latter.

Teenage Mutants, Kruse & Nuernberg - Don't Be Afraid (Original Mix)

Introducing no.7 is signed the dynamic duo from Hageby - Dirtytwo. By now you should know them if you've followed the Local Talk release schedule. 

The Juno review of their Local Talk debut "Moody" speak for itself : Brilliantly, this has one of the oddest concepts we've ever come across - a deep house cover of ESG's "Moody" with added Neneh Cherry vocal samples - yet it works magnificently. Musically, it's structured around a groove that recalls classic MK-era US garage - all shuffling beats and rolling organ riffage - on to which all manner of subtle samples and acid tweaks are added. It's simple but devilishly effective - think deep, driving and emotion-rich. The Butt Jackin' Remix adds some more late night riffage and boompty-influenced beats, while the Short Edit (not so short at nearly 9 minutes) shaves off all of 90 seconds. Still, stellar stuff all told.

Introducing 007 - Dirtytwo

Borrowed Identity's musical upbringing is best described as a smorgasbord of concurrent sonic templates. Rooted in Romania but nurtured in deep South Germany, a love of Romanian folk music, Moodymann and Snoop Dogg deem to be the basis of a pretty eclectic sound palette. Reaching beyond the typical four four stratosphere and into the domain of what he describes as "hard banging techno, cheesy pop music, funky disco and experimental noise" he’s been releasing a fleet of material since he jumped into the scene back in 2012. In truth, you only need to look to labels like Mistress Recordings (DVS1's self-operated imprint), Home Taping and most notably, Ostgut Ton, to hear his flourishing cultivated style, but it's his newly coined live show that he’ll be presenting to us next month aims to really showcase his experimental taste and musical dynamism. 

Set to grace our Martin Audio rig on Saturday 7th February alongside Kyle Hall, Funkineven and K15, the 24 year old producer has kindly offered to answer a few probing questions on his musical journey and illustrate exactly what he means by ‘never limiting himself to one genre’ by putting together an exclusive promo mix…

Neil Janke, a veteran of the midlands underground music scene, opens up his debut EP on The Groove Stage with two lush, deep, broken beat inspired tracks 'Get My Mind Right' & Hold On which features stunning vocals from Nigerian singer Jaykay. Neil started his musical journey as a turntablist and even went on to compete in the DMCs as well as host numerous UK Hip Hop events up and down the country.Fast forward a few years after a musical hiatus to focus on pastures new, Neil is now fully back in the game as music producer. His debut release on The Groove Stage is a testament to his love of broken, deep and soulful dance sounds.

This tasty EP comes with remixes from three of Leicester's finest producers.... Jonna who has music previously released on the likes of Shadeleaf & Lumberjacks In Hell/BBE who turns things up a notch with his 'City Fly Bump' of 'Hold On'. Flat White Records bossman Flat White Chris rounds the package off nicely with a dreamy interpretation of 'Get Your Mind Right'
