"Time To Live" is the name of the Blade Runner 2049 featurette that gave me the idea to compose this music.  New awesome pictures from the Denis Villeneuve movie were such an inspiration to me. The 1st part of the theme is inspired by the Main Titles composed by Vangelis.

REPLIQUANTS MEMORIES

The Blade Runner Blues lead / harmonica patch is one of the most expressive patches Vangelis ever did on the CS-80. Among other things it features sensitive and fine-tuned velocity and aftertouch response, with quite different settings for each of the two synth lines. Since it is not directly derived from the CS-80's preset buttons, as many of his other go-to patches were, and especially because it has so many expressive nuances, it is not a straightforward patch to recreate. 

 After many hours of fine-tuning every possible parameter on the CS-80V3 and much A/B comparison, this is the closest I have gotten. The pad background was created with the Roland VP-03 strings to emulate Vangelis' gorgeous VP330, and some Rhodes flourishes were added.

Blade Runner Blues Lead Demo using CS-80V

When I get a new synth, I like to make a complete track using only that synth to help me get to grips with it. This track was made only using sounds from my new Peak, mutitracked into Logic Pro. Drum sounds are from the Peak also, sampled into the Digitakt and sequenced with it. All FX from the Peak, apart from those on the drums which come from the Digitakt. I'm really loving how flexible this synth is!

Hydrasynth Ethno Pipe

I've been looking at a bunch of videos of rainy nights in Tokyo, feeling inspired by the relative calm of otherwise busy streets. 
I have only had the Hydrasynth for a short time, but I've managed to squeeze it in as much of my schedule as possible. I've fallen quite hard for this marvellous instrument; it really is a rich, expressive, modern, digital ax for whatever the future has in store.
