We are extremely happy to have her on board for this one, since she is easily one of our very favourite DJs! 🙏
Helena started out as a resident DJ at Pudel Club in Hamburg, a legendary space where she perfected her mixing skills that now make her one of the best djs in the world 🧨  

Over the last 10 years she has not only stuck to djing but also produced her own music, resulting in two albums that she released in 2015 & 2018 which were both widely celebrated, as well as several EPs. 

For Spandau20 she has delivered one hour of pure vinyl-mastery, full of electro / breakbeat gold and we couldn’t be prouder to share it with you today 🖤

DJ Heartstring | Boiler Room x AVA Festival 2023

Australian Kia very quickly rose up through the grimy after-hours rave scene of Melbourne to make her mark on the international stage. Now Berlin-based, her unique grasp of rhythm is rooted in a love of bass, IDM and deeper techno though she is adept at exploring a wide range of moods within those worlds. She has done so at places like ADE and our own festival and extends her good taste to the curation of her Animalia imprint and its ambient sub-label Cirrus as well as her own original tracks on Nous'klaer Audio.

In this week's mix, Kia showcases a colourful and kaleidoscopic take on techno which she says was awakened by an early trip to Japan's famously head Labyrinth festival. It's a hi-fidelity feast of supple rhythms, icy synths and deep space ambiance that unfolds in late-night fashion. The melodies are as delicate as silk, the drums rubbery yet punchy. It's high-paced future music that manages to be as delicate and beautiful as it is dynamic.

‘1 of the microhouse events, that took the name Space Edition, and hosted the Canadian Mathew Jonson, a member of Cobblestone Jazz, and 1 of the founders of Wagon Repair record label. That evening, Mathew divided the music area with Donato Dozzy, a resident DJ and famous today in the international electronic scene. In this recording, Dozzy is playing at the opening, while the set of Jonson, is in the central part. There are 3 or 4 jumps in the track, because that night the recorder had some problems’.

Northallsen Records is an electronic music label founded in Bogotá, Colombia in 2016 by Aleja Sanchez.

The label's sound embraces the realms of hypnotism and explores the fusion between organic soundscapes, experimental and acoustic elements, with the powerful load of techno music, revealing a sonic narrative that flows between the mysticism of ancestral cultures and the spiritual power of nature.

In order to build the concept, far away from trying to emulate a sound, the label curation is focused on artists with their own identity and particular voice, with a foundation into their musical and artistic proposals. Recent releases have featured the likes of Oscar Mulero, Deepbass, Reggy van Oers, Magna Pia, Polygonia, Tekra, !nertia, Psyk, Laertes, Iori and founder Aleja Sanchez.

The label is intended to keep and highlight the deepness and beauty of techno and electronic music since Northallsen considers music as a tool to help bring harmony and peace in the middle of the tragic war-related situation we all are facing currently around the world.

DASCO is a hurricane force with recent roots in Berlin, active for the past decade and packing as strong a punch today as she ever has. That’s as true of her music as it is her persona. She has the kind of rare, contagious energy that’s capable of setting dancefloors ablaze: animated, celebratory and full of joie de vivre. As DJ, she draws from the wells of Chicago house and UR, as much as 90s UK rave: dispatching rhythms from the booths at Tresor, Panorama Bar, RSO, Bristol’s Motion and many more. As producer, she’s released records on the likes of Shall Not Fade and pushed her own vision via her recently launched Bisexuality Exists imprint (2022). Catchy name and it serves a purpose. Through her music, DASCO wants to lift people up, that includes people like herself who identify as bisexual and see a frequent tendency towards bi erasure: ‘With the label, I would like to show the world that music - like life - is rarely ever black or white.’ The label’s first release was the acid influenced Get High With Me, featuring her own vocals and a slew of punchy 90s beats - an attempt to bottle the feeling of dancefloor rapture that washes over a crowd every time she plays. She’s here again spreading love and positive vibes for Bassiani Podcast 201. The 54th 꿈 Kkum episode features a 40-minute live set called ‘Being 存在’ by London-based sound artist Jin Synth. This set is a reconstruction of sounds recorded during her Asia tour in 2023.

Jin Synth is a DJ, musician, and sound artist based in London. Her music is a unique blend of textural and experimental analogue noise elements. Jin is adept at playing synthesizers, modular setups, and various microphones for field recording. In her live performances, she aims to create an abstract, meditative atmosphere through free improvisation with her equipment. Recently, she has immersed herself in sonic art, dedicating time to building her own instruments and DIY microphones to craft distinctive sounds.

Not departing from that polymathic approach, his RYC mix, recorded at the PURE G event at FINAL Taipei on December 7, treats us to a storm of shape-shifting grooves and brutalist fractals of sound.
