Integer – a durational located sound walk+ generative composition by @breakwavedj

“Integer” is part of a wider body of work that focuses on the narrative of locational history and the recording of biotic and abiotic constituents, before further changes take effect. Curated using visual programming language, the generative piece is an infinite iteration of nine panned notes with variable loop lengths. The result is a continual soundscape; the computer has creative control and the music thinks for itself. Using field recording techniques and
specialist equipment, sounds are captured and the act of recording becomes part of the overall composition. Covid-19 has lead us to engage in practices alone, such as sound walking. This piece invites the listener into the sonic environment, where durational listening and interaction in the geographical location is shared. 

*The use of headphones or full-range speakers is advised, the duration of the piece is 60 minutes.
