Moving into 2021 Pure Space is excited to deliver another year of Australian electronic music. Lately we’ve found therapy through regular body movement to help us see that better days are ahead. We hope you feel this too with this new release…

For our first release of the year, Melbourne’s Third Space captures his most club-focussed exploration to date. It offers a broad path which melts genres, instead showing us an alternate domain.

The final track on the release ‘Nonlinear (For Pillows)’ offers recontextualised melodies and percussion, providing a sense of closure and sonic bookending by linking tones and timbres referenced throughout the EP into a pillow like state.

Tracks written, produced and mixed by M. Sabbadini on Wurundjeri land. Pure Space and Third Space both acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land and pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.

"The mix was recorded at home on my Pioneer XDJ-RX; it was made during a period of meandering energies - as I had just gotten my first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine and anxiously awaiting the slow-but-steady incline towards more of my friends, family and community getting access to it as well.

The coalescence of tracks came together through periods of anxiety, but ultimately I wanted the mix to represent a cautious re-emergence towards the collective consciousness looking forward to the future of losing our communal shit on a dancefloor."
