Systematic are gearing up to release the 100th EP on the label and who better to take the reigns than Romboy and Bodzin. We have the premiere of the title track and 'Kerberos' is exactly what you'd expect from the titans of techno.

'Kerberos' is a hypnotic and driving cut, one that progresses and builds with precision and underlying menace. Its melodies intertwine from the first beat and it couldn't sum up the Systematic ethos better.

Everything that we did and built and wrote and thought and discovered will be forgotten and all of this will have been for naught. Maybe that time is coming soon and maybe it is millions of years away, but even if we survive the collapse of our sun, we will not survive forever.”
Change is constant, collapse inevitable. With ‘Inevitable Collapse’ new project FAR rejects templates and dancefloor patterns, turning in four works of spontaneous techno contemplations. On the A-side “Hypocrite” opens with billowy, retroactive synths, weaved into some desolate sci-fi landscape. “Ignite” then wields hand drums and sparse electronic meditations akin to early Shackleton-meets-Aphex Twin through a Polygon Window. “Carrier” on the B-side is as chugging techno as it gets, albeit haunted by a deconstructive FAR presence. Finally “Smash The Walls” concludes in rolling waves of unpredictable surf. Recorded in long single takes and produced with solicitous mix-downs, ‘Inevitable Collapse’ is an intriguing debut for those more peripherally inclined.

Stephan Bodzin: a classically trained musician, vastly experienced producer and master of melody. He has built a reputation through countless releases under many aliases, and through his dramatic and dynamic live set capturing the hearts of fans worldwide. For Afterlife, Bodzin bottles the infectious energy of these shows into two epic, colourful landscapes of sound, “Strand” and “Catamaran”.

Following his first contribution to the label in September - a mesmerising remix of Tale Of Us & Vaal’s ‘Monument’ - “Strand” elevates this fitting relationship to the next level. The release contains a true anthem from Bodzin’s and Tale Of Us’ sets in ‘Strand’ and a more restrained effort in ‘Catamaran’. Both dream-like compositions are unmistakably Bodzin, taking the listener on a journey and brimming with the synth wizardry he is best known for.

For the first X/OZ release of 2018 we have brand new material from Russian musical prodigy Nikita Zabelin. His first release in two years, Nikita brings us a fresh take on minimal techno with a breadth of styles and approaches to the genre. Previously releasing on Nina Kraviz’s Trip label this will be Nikita’s X/OZ debut. This release, Trans Siberian Express also features a remix by label head Exos, thus combining the forces of both artists to create the Russian/Icelandic collaboration of the year.
