Latitudes is a project in which Stijn Demeulenaere collects field recordings from all over the world, subsequently shaping them into soundscape compositions and live sets. For this occasion, he will mix his own recordings with recordings and compositions by other field recording artists, and interlace them with samples of testimonies about the act of listening, collected from sound artists who inspire him.

Stijn Demeulenaere is a sound artist and field recordist. He creates installations, soundscapes, performances, and collaborates with dance and theatre makers. He researches the relation between place, identity, sound, and the phenomenology of listening.

Sound Artist and field recordist from Belgium. I'm researching the phenomenology of sound, or how we give meaning to sound, and the sonic characteristics of spaces and places. I make installations, soundscapes, concerts and do sound design for dance, theatre and film. On my soundcloud I mostly upload the pure recordings, but I do digress as well.

Q-O2 is a Brussels based workspace for experimental contemporary music and sound art. Q-O2 develops projects in collaboration with national and international artists and arts organizations, hosts artists in-residence, and holds performances and concerts.

Recording sounds from everyday life, that seem interesting or calming.

Þóranna Dögg Björnsdóttir studied music from an early age. She graduated as a classical pianist and moved forward into the study of visual and sound art. She finished a BA degree at the interfaculty of Image&Sound/Art science at the Royal Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague/Holland.

Þóranna has worked with various bands and as an independent composer. She works with different medium and realizes her work through film, performances and installations. She has also composed for dance theater and for film. Her work has been featured on the Icelandic national radio RUV1 and at festivals domestically (Extreme chill festival Iceland, Iceland Airwaves) and abroad (e.g Live iXem, Milan, Festival Licences, Brûlures des langues VIII, Paris). She performs live under the name Trouble and her music can be described as acousmatic, where she uses concrete and synthesized sounds.
