These tunes are a collection or showcase mix of music i have made over the last few years be it edits, remixes or official releases and remixes through labels such as Cuttin It Fine, Breakbeat Paradise or That's Not An Edit.

This mix is basically a highlight of some of my better tracks that i thought you guys would like to hear in a continuous form. 44 tracks all up and 2 and half hours of music, mixed in key at 117bpm. This is also a studio mix made in Ableton, i hope you dig this funky affair. x :)

Another note: There are a couple of tracks in there that were made for labels but never quite got there. Kudos if you can work out which ones.

Why do I feel like I'm going to catch some words from people on this one???

Here's a Qdup Re-Rub version Blurred Lines. I did this when I first heard it back in May, before it really saw the huge attention that it garnered over the summer. I had no idea it would have been as big as it got and more did it for a bit of fun as I loved the beat and feel of the track and was pretty happy to have heard both Get Lucky and this track being a glimpse of funky & disco inspired music being played on the radio. There has been a lot of controversy over this track this year. People either seem to HATE or LOVE this track... From finger pointing of misogynistic lyrics, to a pre-emptive lawsuit against the threatening Marvin Gaye estate... It's probably because of the similarity to Marvin's tune that caught my ear on this and I wish there were more new songs that sounded like that, so it's pretty ridiculous to me that there would actually be a lawsuit in this day and age over that. I'm sorry, but you can't copyright a genre or style or half of the music ever made would infringe!

It's all just for a bit of fun and not to be taken too seriously.

This set was created with so much love and appreciation for our beloved siStar Funkbaby. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her and grateful for knowing her. I played this set for DJs Giving Back Twitchmas 2022 last month. I intentionally had Funkbaby in my mind the entire time picking out all these songs for this set and imagined her dancing to them. This mix is filled with breakbeat and house love and funk with 2step, 90's UK Oldskool, and Jungle Flava sprinkled throughout. A few of these gems were given to me by Funkbaby and I felt her very close while creating this mix, Funkbaby Forever. ((( ❤️ )))

Miss Mants In The Mix For Vinyl Touch

After Kenny Beeper and Fort Knox Five transformed Tha Fun Police ft Claire G’s “My Nikes” into a party rocking hip hop funk anthem, they passed it on to a few producers to pump up the tune and transform it into some proper dance floor bangers. Kenny Beeper reached out to fellow Aussies Crazy Daylight and Swim INC, and then tapped the ever so funky Stabfinger from Venice, Italy to get in on the action. While the original is a straight ahead hip-hop meets electro-funk fusion, the remixes take “My Nikes” into all new territory, so lace up your sneakers and get ready to dance.
First up is Crazy Daylight who adds epic builds, glitched out twists and turns, pumping up the track into a Bass House monster complete with helium vocals and dubbed out hooks. Crazy Daylight has made a name for himself by mixing big bass lines with house and tech, combining elements of funk and vocoder vocals. Play this one loud on a big system and nobody will be able to resist dancing, to the infectious vibe of this remix.
Next up is Stabfinger who amps the tune up, alternating between a swinging breakbeat and booming four four drums, topping his mix with some killer effects, horn riffs, timestretched vocals and some crisp percussion. The result is nothing short of a funky house barnstormer that is sure to get even the most jaded fan moving to the beat.
Closing out this trio of remixes is Swim INC, with a glitch hop meets trap influenced bass Kraken from the deep complete with ‘nuf dubstep production flourishes to make your knees weak. This is a heavy track for bass heads who like to feel that womp in their chest. Just as it hits hard, the piano breakdowns bring the listener back from orbit, taking us on a bizarre ride to the dark side of “My Nikes”. Be careful with this one, it will do damage to your speakers if you crank it too loud!
These three remixes have something for anyone who wants to drop it hard on the dance floor and are guaranteed to bring the heat.

Eddie Light - Episode 141

Lanx and Nick Slater, aka the Drumattic Twins, have been a leading force in dance music since they first began touring over 20 years ago. Making their name as Shades of Rhythm, they ruled the early nineties rave scene with legendary anthems ‘Sweet Sensation’, ‘Sound of Eden’, ‘Extacy’ and ‘Homicide’ and performed with the likes of The Prodigy and N-Joi.

Since rebranding themselves as the Drumattic Twins in 1997, Nick and Lanx quickly replicated this global notoriety thanks to massive hit tracks ‘Feelin Kinda Strange’ ‘Twister’ and ‘HyperSpeed’. They teamed up with the legendary release platform Finger Lickin Records in 1999 and settled quickly into the close-knit world of the breakbeat scene, working alongside global acts such as Plump DJs, Soul of Man and Lee Coombs.

From a string of releases from 1999 starting with top the selling "Feeling Kinda Strange" till late 2013 with their "Get Up and Dance EP" on Sugarbeat Records and 2 full length albums in between the Drumattic Twins have laid down a variety of music that have influenced the Breaks Scene and shaped it in to what it is today.

This mix was an exclusive promo for Mighty Breaks, a club in San Francisco that promoted Breaks at that time.

Back in the early 2000's Fort Knox Five and Ursula 1000 joined forces to become the act FK 1000 an outfit that created many a bootleg party jam which can be heard in this old mix i had laying around on my hard drive. Fortunately i found a tracklist via the good old interwebs and as you can see each track is a FK 1000 tune. I forgot to put a date when i downloaded it but by all accounts this mix is from March 2006, hope you dig the funk. :-)

Qdup has also made the official promotional mix tapes for The DC Funk Parade 3 years running, further solidifying himself as one of DC’s most sought after party rockers. Since relocated to Los Angeles, Qdup has continued this trend frequently playing at some of LA’s best underground warehouse and festival venues.
