Monster Sounds Vol 2 (Minimix Previews)

From the creative mind of Qdup, his new Party Platters series is serving up hot, fresh artisan beats for the dance floor. We’ve been cooking it all up with soul, so leave any bad vibes a preconceived notions of tempos and genres behind and dig into the delicious flavor.

Qdup is flying high into 2019 after continuing his string of original singles on Washington, DC’s Fort Knox Recordings. He also found himself engineering and producing a Vocal Sample Pack along with conscious party MC EVeryman that was released earlier in 2019 with Canada’s Black Octopus Sound. His DJ touring kept him busy last year including DJ sets at Shamhala Music Festival & Bass Coast (Four Deck Set with Fort Knox Five), Motion Notion and Joshua Tree Music Festival (DJ Performance with EVeryman). 2019 looks to be a good year as Qdup has been hard at work cooking up new beats to bring to you. 

First up for Party Platters Vol. 1, “Love Rap Thang” is a strong Disco Break that is like a 70’s Soul Train Line and a classic Hip Hop MC got together and made a love child. Qdup’s beats and bass marry the classic party rap vibe with new school production prowess that really hits a sound system right. This will get the party moving! As the name suggests, “Funk Over Here” has all the funk in the trunk to make the bass bins bump. It’s infectious bass line and call and response vocal chants will have the dance floor saying “Hell Yeah”. Pure vibes! Dusk is starting to seep through. It’s a sultry Monday afternoon in a modest Cul De Sac. Behind a semi-detached bungalow there’s a low frequency of electronic drums pounding. They are frequently accompanied by sporadic screams, laughter and occasional glass smashing.

The noises are coming from a shed in a woman’s garden. Upon opening the door you are greeted by two 30 something males. Both are dressed like Kevin and Perry and look as if they are stuck in a time warp from the 90’s. They are both drinking heavily, and the table is littered with an array of paraphernalia from the weekend’s festivities.

The males in question are @roastbeatz and @kurnelmc. Both claiming how one day they will successfully make music and be booked to play festivals over the world. A likely story!! Kurnel realises he’s been up all weekend and the party should’ve stopped on Sunday morning. He creeps to the sofa for some shut eye and begins to dream about what it would be like to fulfil his musical fantasies……

Cue funky guitar licks performed by the one and only @mrstabalina, Drums that will get a festival tent nodding, uplifting horn samples, technical scratches from Uncle Roast and catchy vocals laid down by the main man Kurnel.

Is it a dream? Fortunately not!!

For Roast Beatz second single on Cuttin’ It Fine he’s assembled all the above to bring you the funkiest festival slammer of the Summer. Every DJ will need this in their crate and all-party people deserve it in their speakers to make life that little bit doper!

@beatlejuicemusic brings a G Funk squelchy bass line to make your neck feel like the hydraulics on a low rider accompanied by tasty synths and a saxophone to make it complete!

@frankee_more grabs all the elements and uses an audio snow storm to come up with an eclectic banger containing extreme bass and funk magic.

@crashparty do what they do best, play chess with different stems on the track while sprinkling their secret sauce of various synths and bass lines resulting in another solid remix under their belts.

Kibosh makes a welcome return to Bombstrikes with two tracks that simply ooze with the funk. First up is a slice of Bass Funk perfection in the form of 'Step To This' which sees Krafty join forces with the prodigious DJ and producer: Dubra. Delivering a sonic bass assault that attacks with low down and deep frequencies paired with driving beats and a killer vocal. Title track 'Start Rockin' showcases the funk side of Krafty's sound, with toughened Hip Hop beats driving the groove and an infectious piano break. Qdup has also made the official promotional mix tapes for The DC Funk Parade 3 years running, further solidifying himself as one of DC’s most sought after party rockers. Since relocated to Los Angeles, Qdup has continued this trend frequently playing at some of LA’s best underground warehouse and festival venues.
