Qdup & AGFA team up to remix some of hip hop's pioneers into a tasty slice of midtempo funk breaks. They've sliced up a who's who of original funk breaks in homage to the pioneers of hip hop & funk while adding a good bit of modern pumped up beats and bass to properly thump on todays dance floors and sound systems. 

This one has been road tested through many festivals over the summer and getting early support from Fort Knox Five, DJ Slynk, The Funk Hunters among other top party rockers worldwide.

This Fall marks the official 20th Anniversary of Fort Knox Five and to celebrate this milestone, the group reached out to a few of their favorite producers to remix some FK5 classics. First up in this new series is The Allergies remixing the Fort Knox Five hip-hop anthem “Insight” featuring Asheru, and this one is a certified banger!

The Allergies remix is 21st century funky hip-hop on steroids, complete with some retro-heavy guitars, crunchy beats and crashing breaks. This is definitely not some backpacker hip-hop, instead pushing the boundaries of hard funk and beats. The Allergies are best known for reshaping funky vintage sounds for the modern dance floor and they bring all their best bells and whistles to bear on this remix.

The Allergies have delivered a no holds barred funky hip-hop monster and kick off the new series of remixes in style. It is an honor to have such legends flip one of FK5’s tracks, and bring so much new energy and excitement to the song. Asheru said it best in his lyrics - "this is music with a meaning and party with a purpose", and now, The Allergies have funked it up all over again!

The label welcome funk maestro Ali B back to the label and this time he is alongside hip hop royalty in the form of Baby Bam (Jungle Brothers). No strangers to working together, the two have already entered national charts and picked up playlists at BBC 6 music with previous musical collaborations. With a career spanning over 2 decades in music, Ali was one of the first and longest standing residents at legendary club Fabric, in addition to hosting radio shows on Capital and Kiss. Qdup has also made the official promotional mix tapes for The DC Funk Parade 3 years running, further solidifying himself as one of DC’s most sought after party rockers. Since relocated to Los Angeles, Qdup has continued this trend frequently playing at some of LA’s best underground warehouse and festival venues.
