Mister Willis is an english dj. During his 12 years spent in Manchester enjoying nightlife and club culture from a young age, the city was a fantastic place by having some of the best parties, records shop, music institution in the Uk and being surrounded by many djs/producers that made him develop his hobby to a passion and started playing locally. Now based in Berlin for 3 years he is the resident of Rave Atlas parties held in Suicide Circus and occasionally have a takeover at Hoer Berlin a few times a year. Over lockdown he started ‘Gardens’ with budding DJ Sparkling Water Dreams, a platform to showcase their music, that maybe don’t always get opportunities to do so. 
However Black owls is happy to have him onboard by offering us the second part of this series of podcasts.

Resident for Rave Atlas alongside DJ Sparkling Water Dreams, who are a duo together as Gardens of Babylon and curators of the Gobcast Mix Series.

Originally from the UK with a deep mix of different influences in the club scene, mainly residing in Manchester for years and the north of the UK.

Upstairs Basement is first and foremost an intimate techno and house club night. A collaborative scheme building and nurturing connections. Inviting queers, music lovers, and whoever needs it that night, the Upstairs Basement parties are rooted in honesty, joy, and resilience. Our nights pulse with a respectful interplay of past and present, where bodies connect freely to the rhythm. 

Here, hospitality is radical: a space of acceptance, where diversity isn’t just celebrated but wielded as strength. We honour techno’s essence as a form of resistance, aiming to create an atmosphere where veterans and newcomers, young and old, find rhythm and refuge—a sex-positive, pressure-free zone where authenticity thrives and dancers and artists rise. Above all, we’re committed to consistency, a steady heartbeat of music, community, and the kind of warmth that makes every guest feel at home.

Chances are if you have been to Sydney to party you have encountered our man, Dave Stuart. It is not hard to miss Dave  sporting his signature scarf and beard behind the decks. 

Whether playing his residency in the club at Something Else or out in the fresh air at Subsonic Festival you would have had the pleasure of hearing one of Dave's deeply constructed sets built on  years of studying the craft and collecting the finest of records.

Dave has cemented himself as one of Australia's finest selectors  and DJ's allowing him to have played alongside some of the biggest international and Australian DJ's that pass through Sydney town such as Luke Hess, Kollektiv Turmstraße, Peter Van Hoesen, Efdemin, Aril Brikka, Insect O and many, many more..

Dave also took his signature deep sounds to Europe for 6 months playing at Tresor and Golden Gate in Berlin, Parallel at Griessmuehle, Moxxom Festival and Macarena Club in Barcelona.

Dave has exclusively and meticulously mixed this vinyl only set for the Primary [colours] Mix Series. Full of beautiful dub to deep techno sounds, this will sure to be a favourite amongst all our listeners. Enjoy.

To him, a great set isn't about playing a string of dance floor killers on repeat. Instead, it's a journey that's always evolving and influencing the listener as it moves through different emotions and soundscapes. From his hometown in Islamabad Pakistan, he has been helping push the scene through his DJ mixes and productions. Releases on labels such as Balkan Connection, Massive Harmony, Soundteller, Zephyr Music, Clinique Recordings, 3xA Music, Kosa and Big Bells Records showcase his Progressive perspective, with his mixes featuring his eclectic approach to the expansion of electronic music from a variety of genres. He is hosting his own monthly show on FRISKY: STEREO TALES.

We are truly grateful for the continued support from all our fans and all the great artists and labels that have been supporting our journey for almost 6 years now! 

Our milestone podcast is a very special one curated by the Deep House Toronto founder, Mustafa Ismaeel ( @mustafaismaeelmusic )

In 2015 Mustafa and his partner Zain embarked on a journey to start the DHT community and podcast. Their vision and goal was to provide a platform that supports artists, build a community of music enthusiasts and share the music they love. They curated events in Toronto and got involved in many great local and international parties and festivals.

The journey was not an easy one and definitely had its ups and downs but they knew that persistence, consistency, and patience always pays off. Year by year the platform grew and established itself as a pillar of the Deep House music scene, not only in the Toronto scene but also internationally. The vision for Deep House Toronto was executed by continually expanding a team of very dedicated and talented individuals that work truly out of the love and passion they have for electronic music.

Growing this platform, Mustafa did not even release one podcast of his own on through it but rather set a goal that he will be doing the podcast #100. Fast forward 6 years and here we are! The team is stronger than ever and the platform is very excited for what's the come next.
