Josephine’ Soundscapes is Jose Salas, audiovisual creator, art director and active promoter of alternative culture in Madrid. In his musical side he works as a DJ, radio host, promoter and programmer, in clubs and institutions, as well as in radio projects of various kinds, partly from his independent promter cell @a_mal_gam_a, together with @diskoan, or as part of other projects such as @calmamadrid, temple, @radio-relativa or BetaPública Festival at Teatros del Canal, among others.

She is conscious of creating a deep sound with an approach of layering sounds, and also enjoys giving an audience the subtle change in soundscape.

I'm delighted to unveil the second release from unpropped, a step forward in the quest to refine and evolve the project's core identity.

You'll notice a shift away from 4x4 beats to a subtly varied rhythm structure, all while embracing a more pronounced industrial ambiance. This isn't to say that techno has been abandoned, as the genre's spirit remains an integral foundation of unpropped.

Think of 'Oldfactory Pleasures' as an extension of 'Acausality'. A part of an ongoing journey, exploring adjacent sonic territories and adding layers to a conceptual framework set to culminate with a third EP, which will round out the current series.

Amidst these changes, one element remains constant: this album is yet another open invitation to immerse yourself in a tapestry of evocative, otherworldly soundscapes. I'm confident you'll find this experience uniquely captivating, a hallmark that I hope will become the most distinctive aspect of unpropped.

OUR man Quantec is nothing if not versatile. An aficionado of many styles including ambient, deep house, Detroit, dub, dubby electronics, experimental and roots reggae, he can turn his hand adeptly across the musical palette. For this his latest release on Neighbour Recordings it’s all about the ‘D’; deep ambient, drone and dub techno that’s dope with a capital ‘D’. Not for nothing is his album titled Journey of Mind. It’s a personal and self-assured trip from first note to last – not surprising for a producer with almost 25 years in the game – drifting as it does through contemplative sonic worlds and ethereal soundscapes. And while the label co-owner’s handiwork here is from the ‘less is more’ school of production, it’s nonetheless big on atmosphere with an undercurrent of drama or melody never too far away. "Δαίμων Εαυτού" for the ancient Greeks was the deity-protector who lived inside each person from birth to death, something like today's "Guardian-angel" and the correct translation of the phrase basically means "I act according to what my conscience thinks is right".
The title was not chosen at random. It is a phrase in ancient Greeks that precisely defines his inner world and his choice not to be imprisoned in stereotypes and "must do" that do not characterise him as a human being. We would say that he has always been absolute in his beliefs and the values ​​that he think we need in a society to be able to express our respect and our love, our humility and our honesty.
"In a world where "appearance" is more important than "soul", thinking about your fellow human being is a small revolution."

Quantec alias Sven Schienhammer grew up in the '80s. Producing and remixing electronic music since 1995 first using hardware tools such as Rolands MC 505 and a 303 with some efx tools.

Now the studio is hardware and software in symbiosis. Using some oldschool synths from the 70's & 80's for the love of the lo-fi feeling of those machines! The sounds are digitized thoughts and emotions.

Personal favourite styles in music include detroit and dubby electronics, deep house, dub, roots reggae, drones, ambient and some experimental stuff. He also releases music as Monoaxial and Sven Schienhammer.
