Initially this was supposed to come out on the HOUSE MASTERS FRANKIE KNUCKLES Compilation on Defected.
To make a long story short... it never did, I was given the blessing from Judy Weinstein (Def Mix Productions Founder) along with Hector Romero to do as I please with this version.
I did this with my keyboardist Erik Deutsch the day after I attended Frankie Knuckles funeral because I felt like I needed to do something not just in his honor but to continue to raise awareness of who this ICON is and undoubtedly none of us house heads should ever forget.
The whistle song is what introduced me to his music so it was only right that I created a version that captured the soul & beauty of the original BUT I wanted to give it more of a BALLAD feel, a version WE CAN ALL USE to close out a great party in his honor when we have them or simply to just hear at your restaurant, lounge, chill/comfort zone.

So ENJOY THIS FREE DOWNLOAD and please play it when and where ever you can no matter where you are.

Since it appeared in stores in the spring of 2018, Sean McCabe and HanLei's 'Now Is The Time' has become a soulful house scene anthem. Now the track has been given a whole new lease of life thanks to a suite of new remixes by Richard Payton of legendary Washington, D.C outfit 95 North.

Since 1993, 95 North has been one of the most prolific and acclaimed artists in the U.S house scene, delivering killer singles for such labels as King Street Sounds, Large Music, Henry Street Music, Strictly Rhythm and Nite Grooves, as well as acclaimed remixes for the likes of Groove Committee, Crystal Waters, Jody Watley, Blak Beat Niks, Stephanie Cook and King Britt's Sylk 130 project.

With such a wealth of experience, there can be few more qualified to rework 'Now Is The Time', a track marked out by the strong and effortlessly soulful vocals of one of house music's most in-demand duos, Hannah Khemoh and Aleysha Gordon AKA HanLei.

Payton's 95 North remixes naturally add some headline-grabbing new twists to McCabe's original production, including fresh instrumentation and insatiable, peak-time ready grooves that recall the best of the outfit's legendary 1990s productions. First up is the 95 North Club Mix, where Hannah and Aleysha's sublime vocals simply soar above bumpin' beats and a backing track rich in jaunty organ stabs, funk-fuelled bass and warm chords that keep the action moving throughout.

Payton next offers up a tough and chunky Hard Dub rich in pumping drums, delay-laden vocal snippets and fizzing synth stabs, before delivering a suitably righteous, organ-heavy Gospel Mix that unchains the track's inherent soulfulness and puts HanLei's vocals front and centre. For those that like to great creative with multiple mixes, the digital download package also includes on-point instrumental versions of Payton's Club and Gospel mixes.

In the summer of 2017, Good Vibrations Music unleashed its debut release - a rich, indulgent and groovy house workout from label founder Sean McCabe and honey-voiced soul vocalist Mike City entitled 'I Know Someone'. Almost two years on, the song has been given a new lease of life by New York house legend Frankie Feliciano.

Feliciano has long been renowned for the quality of his 'Ricanstruction' remixes, named in tribute to his Latin heritage and the Ricanstruction Records imprint he established in 1997. Fittingly, his suite of fresh remixes begins with a fresh 'Ricanstruction Vocal' of 'I Know Someone', where Mike City's silky smooth vocal, toasty keys and mazy synthesiszer solos stretch out above a distinctively swung Latin house rhythm and a jaunty synth bassline. This trademark soulful vocal version is accompanied by 'Ricanstruction' Instrumental and Radio Edit mixes, as well as a mesmerizing 'Beatapella' in which Mike City's breathtaking vocal takes pride of place above Feliciano's toughened-up Latin house beats.

Feliciano isn't finished there, though. He also offers up a chunky 'Classic Vocal' that sees him lay the emotion-rich vocal and his own twinkling keys, colourful synthesizer lines and headline-grabbing bassline over a throwback house beat. It's one that should please the old school house heads. Throw in a 'Classic Instrumental' and a spacey, beat-free 'KeyApella' for the DJs, and you have a fittingly impressive collection of reworks from one of American house music's most distinctive producers.
